Product Description

Rock star DAVID ESSEX (top 10 hit for ROCK ON and star of the cult classic films THAT'LL BE THE DAY, STARDUST) and three time Emmy Award winner BEAU BRIDGES (THE LANDLORD, THE INCIDENT, TWO MINUTE WARNING) star as rival motorbike racers in this adventure of fast paced action and passion on the international motorbike circuit! Both are immersed in a battle of ego and honor...of love and passion. They both want to win the World Motorcycle Championship, and they both want to win the love of young, passionate Julie (CRISTINA RAINES - THE SENTINEL, NIGHTMARES, NASHVILLE).

I would guess that the makers didn't know how to end it so they did this.

I saw this movie back in the 1990's, the movie is pretty good, but definitely is a British movie.

This is an old movie about motorcycles and my husband had looked for it for years!

Read this review with the understanding that I first saw this movie as a 12-year old at my local cinema around 1980. And then I went to go and see it another four times in the week after that. At that time, this movie just blew me away with its motorbike race scenes - and I also wasn't puked out by the romance sub-plot either - which is saying something for a 12-year old. The sight of David Essex zipping around the track on that gorgeous silver bike - and the sad conclusion to the movie -was enough to create a warm memory of the movie for me. I'll probably see it today and be able to intellectually accept its hokiness, but sentimentally - hey, it's a good memory from my youth so I'll probably buy it for my Guilty Pleasures collection (alongside An Officer and a Gentleman and Against All Odds).

Quite a while since I first saw the film but having been to see David Essex live a couple of days ago when he sang the title track - it evoked memories of what an excellent "biker" film this was. It was a classic for its time - the race scenes were excellent and David portrayed the part par excellence.
The ending was unexpected and very dramatic - it leaves a constant memory for what was a brilliant film.

The best thing about this movie is David Essex. He is georgeous!
He just keeps getting better and better. And for any of you Essex fans who haven't seen this movie yet, there is a shower scene! As far as I'm concerned David shines in this. The song "I think I'll always love you" was composed by him but sung by someone else. It is lovely. I enjoyed this film so much I bought it in BETA, and am now purchasing it in VHS!

I liked this movie since I first saw it too many years ago. I had an old VHS copy that was in poor shape that I would watch whenever I needed a little cheese. You know, bad dialogue and questionable plot. I always liked the music and the racing wasn't bad, although much slower than the real thing. I knew there was another "european" ending and this DVD has it. I wish I had never seen it. The other ending takes a tolerable bit of entertainment and turns it into crap. I would guess that the makers didn't know how to end it so they did this. What a waste. Unfortunately both endings are here but you have to watch the european version as the American endind is just tacked on afterwards.

With footage from Barry Sheen, David Essex plays an always strugling racer who have the willing power to build the ultimate machine. Nice shots and good story produced with technical motorcycle parts and a lovely girlfriend. Does anyone have a copy to sell?

I saw this movie back in the 1990's, the movie is pretty good, but definitely is a British movie. However , the version I saw before ended differently! Still as a motorcyclist , its pretty good entertainment.

As a past video store owner I've seen this movie more than 20 times in VHS mode. I will say I was more than a little surprised to watch this tonight and find that there was an alternate ending that I'd never seen before. If you like this movie then you owe it to yourself to have a brand new viewing experience....
