5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic sequel to Violet Eyes, January 27, 2002
By
This review is from: Silver Eyes (Mass Market Paperback)
The rebellious and gifted heroine and narrator of "Violet Eyes" returns to the page in this brilliant sequel. Angel, now 18, is working for SilverDollar. She finds a secret message written to herself some time ago: "Violet eyes lie". She has no idea what it means. Her memory is hazy at best. She blames this on her training accident a few weeks previously - and she can't remember anything about her early life. Occasionally something will come to her, only to be forced out of her mind with the traumatic memory of drowning.

She has no idea why this is happening, but she's determined to find out. Meanwhile, her job takes her on a mission to capture a fugitive named Michael Vallant. She feels a connection to him, but she can't remember him - and every time she thinks she might, her drowning memory kicks in.

Once again Angel is seeking the truth about herself, while intervening in the dispute between SilverDollar and the Spacers - and trying to get out of it alive...

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost As Good as the First, February 9, 2002

Most authors just can't make the sequel as good as the first book, but Nicole Luiken has managed to do it with Silver Eyes. I was extremely happy when I saw this book sitting on the bookshelf of the local bookstore. I've been waiting for this book ever since I finished Violet Eyes more than a year ago. It was well worth the wait.

The heroine, Angel Eastland, remembers very few things of her past, which is why she is so confused when she finds a hidden message that reads, "Violet eyes lie.". On her first mission, she meets up with Michael Vallant, who claims to know her, but she can barely remember him, and can't comprehend on what he tells her.

Although the novel is quite confusing at the beginning because it kicks off nowhere near where Violet Eyes ended, everything becomes clear as the story goes by. I really enjoyed this book. It should be a movie or something, or at least, Ms Luiken should write another novel about our favorite violet-eyed couple.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST-READ, February 20, 2002

Silver Eyes is an awesome book! After I read the first one, Violet Eyes, I kept waiting for the sequel (this) to be published. When I finally got to read it, I wasn't disappointed. Although the first has more humour, Silver Eyes is still a great book. I'd reccomend it to ages 12&up. Its a little confusing for younger readers. It is a science fiction story, so people who like that sort of stuff would probably like it best. But I think anyone would enjoy it. One thing though - read Violet Eyes first, or else you'll be a little lost.
One of the best parts is the plot. Although it doesn't start where Violet Eyes left off, it is eventually explained how Angel came to work at the company called Silver Dollar. By the end everything is explained, so if you're in the middle of it and totally confused, don't worry. You'll understand everything once you reach the end. There is also another huge twist to the plot at the end, which I'm not gonna tell you about. You'll just have to read it yourself.
Silver Eyes is full of suspense,it has a very inricate and action-packed plot, and I'm sure any reader would love it. Silver Eyes is very well written, and I, for one, hope there will be at least one other sequel.
A Must-Read!! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Characters are vivid, personal, and involving, February 4, 2002
This review is from: Silver Eyes (Mass Market Paperback)
When a young investigator for a mining company captures a teen fugitive as part of her job, she senses an immediate connection with him - and answers to her missing memories and questions about her past. While this is a sequel to Violet Eyes, it's easy to quickly become immersed without prior familiarity with the book's predecessor: characters are vivid, personal, and involving. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but Violet Eyes was better, December 2, 2001

I enjoyed reading this book, yet I found that sometimes the charcters would just make huge jumps in their conclusions with out really showing where they got the information. On the other hand, the story was just a good story about the determination that lies deep within all people and the little voice that says "keep trying". Angel is working for the SilverDollar mining company as security, yet she can't remember what she did before she was hired. When she goes on her first assignment, she meets Michael, who claims to have not only to have known her, but to have been in an emotional relationship with her at one time as well. She doesn't remember, but she can't quite disbelieve him either. In the end, he finally forces her to remember who she is, even with her "loyalty chip" in her head, which makes her do whatever is in the best interests for the company. I don't want to spoil the plot, (...)

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this book!!!, January 1, 2003

I really liked this book. Angel is now working for the people she was trying not to work for in Violet Eyes. She has no memory what so ever of her life before. She meets Michael again and she doesn't remember him either. He tries and tries again until her memory comes back. But she still has a Loyalty Chip in her head so she's loyal to her enemies. This book is great and you wish Angel will get over the Chip. You'll really enjoy this book if you've already read Violet Eyes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling and Fast paced!, January 10, 2002
This review is from: Silver Eyes (Mass Market Paperback)
Violet eyed Angel lives in a futuristic world where she works for a security company called the SilverDollar Company. She is 18, the youngest employee, very smart, and just as athletic. But when she meets Michael on her first mission everything she thinks she knows about life is altered. Michael has violet eyes just like her, he claims to know her, and he somehow knows things about her that she cannot remember. Interested in learning about her past, she helps him out a little. But soon after she does this both she and Michael are sent to protect the President of SilverDollar's son. But when Angel gets involved she finds herself in the middle of a strange and dangerous mystery. Will she find out about her past? And what about these strange Silver eyed people? Where do their loyalties lie?

If you're a fan of Violet eyes I recommend this book. Though the beginning is a bit confusing, considering it begins in a totally different place then when Violet eyes left off, it soon sets off into a great fast paced plot that will keep you on the end of your seat. Though I'm not a huge fan of Science Fiction I found this book to be thrilling. I highly recommend it to fans of teen fantasy. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars This book is NEAT-O, October 13, 2003
This review is from: Silver Eyes (Mass Market Paperback)
THis is a good book, but it is not spectacular. Angel, the main character, is working at a company called Silver Dollar. While she is there she is sent on a mission to find a fugitive who has supposedly stolen thousands of dollars from the company. The guy that she captures is Michael and seems very familiar to her, but she can't remember who he is. She has forgotten all of her past, and he begins to tell her about it. He was her boyfriend. They end up going to this exhibit on Mars where Angel ends up being captured. A huge mystery dealing with the Silver Dollar company is revealed and you'll have to read the book to find out the rest! A possible theme in this novel could be trust. You cannot be too trustworthy of others, but you sometimes have to trust others. Nicole Luiken uses many devices of forshadowing in this novel, and also similes and metaphors.I know this may sound weird, but that is just because I have to write this for my english teacher. Overall this is a really good novel and you should read it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Who's Who in Our Lives, February 13, 2009
This review is from: Silver Eyes (Mass Market Paperback)
Amazing story about how we never really know who others are, and even who we really are. We can't know if what people say is true, unless you are able to see them in a tight situation, through which they show their true colors. I can't see how this book hasn't become more popular, it really is a great sequal to it's even better partner, Violet Eyes.
