This handy reference work will help you to identify and date items made from silver. The number of hallmarks used on vintage and antique silverware is staggering. I use this book frequently before listing silverware on ebay. Don't sell your unknown silver items too cheap! I have many hallmark guides, but this is the one I go to first. The hallmarks are line drawn and organized for ease of use. This Guide to silver marks of the world is a great reference book that should be in every collector's library.

Missing pages,

I ordered The Book of Silver as a used book. I received it a few days ago and have just had time to sit down and look at it. I have to say that I am disappointed in the book as there are missing pages, and unfortunately, they relate to my areas of interest.I've never ordered a used book before, but at the price point I paid for this book, I would expect at least a complete book.
