Precious metal clay (PMC) is an innovative material that combines the workability of clay with the beautiful finish and durability of precious metals. The material is easy to manipulate and shape by hand to make beads for bracelets, necklaces, and other jewelry. This book contains fifteen projects for creating fine silver beads and a design gallery of 25 additional jewelry pieces. Intro chapters include information about tools and techniques. Projects are organized workshop-style, to build skills cumulatively.
Linda Kaye-Moses has been making jewels since 1976 and her mixed media constructs (Jewels and Nesting Cases) are an extension of her intention to build fully realized objects (jewels within display cases).
In 1996 she was invited to the PMC Master Class; and began teaching the following year. She became a Certified Precious Metal Clay Artisan in 1999 and has been teaching workshops nationally and internationally. She was Curator for the 2001 Precious Metal Clay exhibition, Millenial Metal and for Recollected/Re-Invented; The Narrative Found Object at the Bignell Gallery (Brookfield, CT).
Her piece was selected as a PMC Finalist in the 2005 Saul Bell Design Awards.
