Gerry O'Hara's latest novel, Silver Serenade, is a well-written romantic mystery. The characters are well-drawn and likable and you find yourself rooting for them from the start. It is obvious that O'Hara has put a good deal of research into writing knowledgeably about her characters' occupations. It is engrossing to watch these two put their heads together to solve other peoples' problems, but, when they have their own misunderstandings, it takes encouragement from others to help them sort things out. If you like a good romance with very little sleaze, this is a good choice.

What more can I say? The plot is boring, the main characters both flat and irritating. The author uses the word "quixotic" more than once, but never correctly. I have respect for anyone who attempts to write and self-publish, but I wish I could expect some respect for the reader as well.

This book was painful.

Gerry O'Hara has the gift of being able to create a story and characters that take you in and completely immerse you in their lives and adventures. You are drawn into their lives like you are a secret observer watching their adventures. Having been to Sedona, her accurate and colorful descriptions of the area, were spot on...especially the landing at the Sedona airport - kind of scary for those of us with even a slight fear of flying. I absolutely look forward to more of her creative endeavors!

Just tjoo much fluff and not enough meat on the bones! Read it two weeks ago and can't even remember what it is about. I just remember thinking it had a lovely title but reading it was a waste of my time! The characters were not realistic!

I was really disappointed because I thought the heroine's career would make this book an interesting read.. I found the book poorly written and repetitive. Their chaste romance was not believable. I almost always finish reading a book I start, but I couldn't waste anymore time on this one.

Can't remember the last time I started a book and didn't finish it. The story line and plot 'plodded' along. Nothing unpredictable or intriguing happening. The characters were flat and even the potentially interesting job of the heroine was boring.

I found this novel to very old-fashioned-much like a romance novel you would read in the 1950's. If that is your taste-fine. I found it boring and the characters stiff.

When a woman is searching for her forever love she wants to move slowly in a new relationship. She wants to know she will have his respect, loyalty, honesty. She wants a man with integrity in all areas of his life.A man with compassion for the people in his life and those around around him. She wants a soul mate, and she wants her forever love to want the same qualities in her. Can Chase be that man for Christie? Christie intends to find out. Set in San Francisco and other places in California. With extremely busy and demanding lives, will they have enough time to even get to know each other, let alone build a relationship.
I gave three stars because the story revolved so much around Christies thoughts, worries, and hopes about the relationship,so much so that at the end of the book I had a difficult time recalling much about the other characters. The most pertinent feelings that I came away with were how wonderfully a relationship could be described without anything more physically intimate described than a kiss, and was refreshing to find positive values throughout the whole story.
