Book Description

Handwriting analyst Christie Hamilton has had her heart broken before, so when she meets prominent and charismatic criminal defense attorney Cash McCullough, she’s understandably wary of falling too fast for his advances. But Cash is as persuasive in his personal life as he is before juries, and soon Christie can no longer deny the attraction she feels. After a series of adventurous dates—sailing San Francisco Bay aboard Cash’s Serenade and romantic trips to Big Sur, Lake Tahoe, and Sedona, Arizona—the relationship is solidified even further when Christie and Cash team up to solve a missing-person case.

Christie is nearly ready to reveal her love to Cash when he takes on a new client, one she believes is a dangerous criminal. A sudden argument erupts between the pair, causing a serious rift. Christie must decide if she can reconcile her professional ethics with her emotions, or if she should concentrate on her career—and discard her dreams of a future with the charming attorney.

4.0 out of 5 stars Smooth sailing April 15, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Gerry O'Hara's latest novel, Silver Serenade, is a well-written romantic mystery. The characters are well-drawn and likable and you find yourself rooting for them from the start. It is obvious that O'Hara has put a good deal of research into writing knowledgeably about her characters' occupations. It is engrossing to watch these two put their heads together to solve other peoples' problems, but, when they have their own misunderstandings, it takes encouragement from others to help them sort things out. If you like a good romance with very little sleaze, this is a good choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful story line February 6, 2013
By Mindy
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Gerry O'Hara has the gift of being able to create a story and characters that take you in and completely immerse you in their lives and adventures. You are drawn into their lives like you are a secret observer watching their adventures. Having been to Sedona, her accurate and colorful descriptions of the area, were spot on...especially the landing at the Sedona airport - kind of scary for those of us with even a slight fear of flying. I absolutely look forward to more of her creative endeavors!

1.0 out of 5 stars Made me want to punch my Kindle September 30, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What more can I say? The plot is boring, the main characters both flat and irritating. The author uses the word "quixotic" more than once, but never correctly. I have respect for anyone who attempts to write and self-publish, but I wish I could expect some respect for the reader as well.

This book was painful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Eliminate This One June 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Just tjoo much fluff and not enough meat on the bones! Read it two weeks ago and can't even remember what it is about. I just remember thinking it had a lovely title but reading it was a waste of my time! The characters were not realistic!

1.0 out of 5 stars A real disappointment June 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was really disappointed because I thought the heroine's career would make this book an interesting read.. I found the book poorly written and repetitive. Their chaste romance was not believable. I almost always finish reading a book I start, but I couldn't waste anymore time on this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't even finish it! October 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Can't remember the last time I started a book and didn't finish it. The story line and plot 'plodded' along. Nothing unpredictable or intriguing happening. The characters were flat and even the potentially interesting job of the heroine was boring.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very dated-old fashioned June 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found this novel to very old-fashioned-much like a romance novel you would read in the 1950's. If that is your taste-fine. I found it boring and the characters stiff.

2.0 out of 5 stars A slow read May 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked the beginning of this book but I lost interest as I waited for Christie's character to develop. The character of Chash did and I liked him but the heroine was not as dementional and harder for me to relate to. This was another iteration of the old I wonder if you can read my mind themes. She was hurt once and apparently can't move ahead. She likes the guy but is afraid to tell him for fear of being hurt again. A few cross words and they throw the towel on top of a smoldering romance. Both are too stuborn to call the other. And then....

book was ok. I prefer suspense novels. I was very pleased that there were no "four-lettter" words, curse words, nor explicit sex. Read more

The story line caught my attention immediately and held it until the end. It has such a believable story that relates to everyday life. I was not ready for it to end.
