About the Author

This is Jamie Minster's first publication. As a concierge at one of Charleston's finest hotels she saw a need for this type of information for both visitors and locals. Charleston is a city that revolves around its cuisine and Chefs. Jamie is currently enrolled at Johnson and Wales University and will be obtaining dual degrees in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Sales and Meeting Planning in the spring. This is a great book for anyone living in or going to Charleston. It is also great for those who appreciate great restaruants and good food. I love the recipes and sample menus (with prices!). It has everything you need for a great dining experience including directions and phone numbers. Enjoy!

I have lived in Charleston for almost three years and have eaten at 95% of the restaurants. This is the first book i have come across that i actually wanted to look through. Working at a hotel in the downtown area i pull out the book when people want some more info on a great restaurant, and the book has nothing but the best places to eat in charleston. I recommend this book to food lovers and anyone visiting the charelston area, for leisure or business.

I bought this in anticipation of an upcoming visit to Charleston. It is a beautiful brochure more than a book. It does have what appears to be an outstanding selection of retaurants including sample menus ,gorgeous photos, directions and some recipes. I can't vouch for the recommendations yet but I will certainly try several of the featured places when I'm there. My hesitiation is for those who like me was looking for a guide to help select some eating places in Charleston. This may be a bit much under those circumstances and a zagat guide might suffice. However I reserve the right to review again when I return.
