5.0 out of 5 stars Great song, ignore the "advanced resolution"
This is a great song, and it's a shame it had to be cut from the original Rumours LP due to technology limitations. It's an even bigger shame it wasn't included on every CD release of Rumours. But now, you can correct that by buying it here!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not an 'enhanced' Original Version
Sorry for the long review but details needed: I own several cds by Fleetwood Mac and have been searching for the original version of this song for years; none of my versions are the original 'rumored' to have been released on side two of a 45 (Go Your Own Way being side one)... a former friend of mine had a greatest hits of theirs and it included that "original" version...

It also happens to be my favorite version of Silver Springs: none of the live versions quite do it for me, with the different harmonies and instrumentation.

As one reviewer stated, this is indeed a 256kbps MP3 like everything on Amazon MP3, so the high resolution is a misnomer. However, I bet I can explain it: one of the first places this studio version was released with the album was on the Rumours DVD-Audio release, which had both stereo and 5.1 versions, both in "Advanced Resolution" (above CD quality). They probably just pulled the stereo version off that DVDA and mistakenly kept that label, even though it was getting converted to MP3.

This is a Stevie Nicks song that ranks as one of her best. Lot's of intensity and demonstrates her songwriting abilities. It seemed a shame to see only one other rating for this song with only 1 star, because somebody based their rating on the high resolution. That has nothing to do with the song and does not negatively impact the quality of the listening experience.

Sorry for the long review but details needed: I own several cds by Fleetwood Mac and have been searching for the original version of this song for years; none of my versions are the original 'rumored' to have been released on side two of a 45 (Go Your Own Way being side one)... a former friend of mine had a greatest hits of theirs and it included that "original" version. That said, this version is indeed a later version as Stevie Nicks' voice is raspier and has different vocals by her; the sample was not sufficient enough for me to make that determination. This is still a great song and a decent version but if you're looking for that "first, best version", bypass this and continue the quest...

What is the point of using the "advanced resolution stereo" version to make an MP3? This is meaningless, MP3 files don't even have the resolution, frequency range, or dynamic range of a standard 16-bit 44.1KHz CD.
