5.0 out of 5 stars Great Waist Pouch or Hand Bag Size
I have the 18 and 27 oz Gen Med Stainless bottles which are both great, but a bit large. My wife wanted a smaller bottle to fit in her waist pack or hand bag. She did not want to be holding a bottle when she was shopping or in a Dr's office etc. This bottle did the job, plus it also fits nicely in a car cup holder. This is an all stainless steel bottle with no paint on it...

1.0 out of 5 stars This is not food grade stainless steel
Stainless steel water bottles leach small amounts of chromium and manganese. Food grade stainless steel (304) is safe to use. This stainless steel, however, is grade 201. The percentage of nickel is half those of food grade stainless steel, while carbon and manganese are twice and thrice respectively than those of food grade stainless steel.

I bought this...

I bought this bottle because it was half the price of the other water bottles. But you get what you pay for - not a 18/8 or 18/10 bottle, but a 16/3.5 bottle. Don't risk your health, use glass or pay 5 dollars more for a real stainless steel water bottle.

She did not want to be holding a bottle when she was shopping or in a Dr's office etc. This bottle did the job, plus it also fits nicely in a car cup holder. This is an all stainless steel bottle with no paint on it and has a wide mouth. The cap comes off and on with 3 half turns, which is nice and easy. There is an exellent seal on the cap when tightened down, I have not had any problems with Gen Med bottles leaking. Quite a few reviewers mention the clips on Gen Med bottles look weak, but none ever said it broke. It's stainless steel with a strong spring on it and definitely does not look weak to me. The bottle will sweat if you put ice water in it. If needed my wife will wrap it in a quality paper towel, which obsorbs the moisture nicely. This is a very nice smaller bottle.

I have not had any problems with a metallic taste. I first wash it thoroughly, and than soak it in a vinegar solution before using it.

Not insulated, but will accept mid- to smaller sized ice cubes. Doesn't discolor and cleans easily. Snug-fitting, non-leaking top. Easy carrying in pack, bag, or from hook on top.

I just went to the website for Together-Bottle, the company from which amazon gets these water bottles. In the product features, it does list the bottles as being food grade stainless steel (#304). A previous reviewer claimed that they were not food grade. I don't know where he/she got that information.

If you want to get away from toxins while doing your part to be ecologically responsible, this is the way to go. While there are other brands to choose from, why pay exhorbant prices for essentially the same product--a steel bottle. This was the most cost effective unit I came across. Compared to another expensive brand that I also purchased [KK], this one functions every bit as well. So, unless you simply want to be conspicuous, save your money... take the wife/hubby out to dinner with the savings instead.

I have several of these that I use for my husband's lunches. It is the perfect size for milk or a non-carbonated beverage. They clean up nicely with a bottle brush, hold up to daily use, and for the price you can't beat it.

I love the clip on the top that you can clip to your belt loop. I prefer it to using bottled water (because of the toxins in the plastic that can leach out into the water). I certainly recommend it.

NICE REPLACEMENT FOR PLASTICS!!!!!! IT HAD A FEW BUGS TO WORK OUT THOUGH, BUT NOT ANYTHING MAJOR. THE CAP SUCKS IN WATER WHEN YOU WASH IT. YOU HAVE TO SHAKE IT OUT WHEN YOU RINSE IT. IT GIVES OFF A METAL TASTE IN THE LIQUIDS. THE METAL TASTE HANGS ON TIL ABOUT THE THIRD TIME YOU WASH IT OUT. I USED VINEGAR & BAKING SODA TO WASH & RINSE IT OUT SEVERAL TIMES. OTHER THAN THESE COMPLAINTS, IT IS A NICE ITEM TO REPLACE ALL THOSE PLASTIC BOTTLES WE WERE BUYING BOTTLED WATER IN.

A 12 ounce stainless steel water bottle is just right for the times when a water bottle are necessary or wanted. It sits perfectly in a cup holder and holds just the right amount of clean, fresh water with little chance of ingesting that bad plastic stuff known as bpa. The wide mouth is just the right size for inserting ice cubes (not too big though) and screwing the plastic cap on. Included in the package is a belt clip and holder. Can't say too much for either of them, however. It seems as if you placed too much pulling pressure on either a problem would exist. I, however, did not try to break either. For the price and purpose this is just right for everyday use and if it gets damaged too much, just chunk it and get another. Shucks, for the price it is well worth every cent. If the clip were an issue they are readily available at any sports shop or big box type store. Off the cuff. Wonder how these would do for a martini holder.

I always have one in the car, keep it filled from the filtered water pitcher in the fridge. Save $$$ and not contribut to the plastic bloat in the land fill by not buying bottled water. I have a second in the ice chest when traveling. The hicking clip is a cheap poorly made afair. Replace it with a mini carbonare if needed.
