The jewelry and crafts collection of the Chernihiv Museum numbers more than 3,000 pieces, including the outstanding collection of silver tableware started by V.V. Tarnovsky, Jr. in the latter half of the 19th century. Tarnovsky?s notable collection includes works from silversmiths across Eastern Europe, including Ukrania, Russia, Byelorussia, Poland, Latvia, Germany and Austria. Today the collection numbers over 280 items, and crosses all strata of society with items from politicians, religious leaders, and royalty.
