5.0 out of 5 stars Classic material as performed by the original Destroy All Monsters lineup
This is the 25th anniversary live album by the influential punk-not-punk-noise band Destroy All Monsters.

This material is absolutely classic and essential for anyone interested in art rock. Destroy All Monsters is not a punk band, they're more post-punk although they predated punk itself. It's pure art is what they are. Classic noise feasts like Peener Budder...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but 3cd set is a lot better
The Silver Anniversary album is NEW stuff, done in the 90's. The 3CD package, soon to be reissued in early '99--supposedly--has tons of the old stuff, and is amazing. If you can, get both, but I'd wait for the box set to hear them for the first time.

Classic noise feasts like Peener Budder Mudder Fugger and even more classic Niagara singing Kim Gordon-style on You Can't Kill Kill, when Kim was twelve. She stands right up there with Cosi Fanni Tutti and Kim as the strangest and sexiest female rockers in history. Destroy All Monsters spins baroque kitsch on busted sears bought keyboards circa 1975. If you can imagine elevator music infused with the psychoanalysis of a serial killer running on a low battery, then you can imagine what Destroy All Monsters sounds like. This is a terrific and weird art band that have influenced countless art bands in their wake. And an absolute must for any serious musical provocateur.
