The Suscool 81 is an ultra quiet fan that is specially designed for special quiet computing environment needs; it has the latest bullet hub design that takes advantage of aerodynamics and improved efficiency, lowered overall noise on all speed level to a point that you’ll barely notice it’s even operating. Designed with automatic thermal control that will increase or decrease speed depending on the temperature it detects. The use of rubber screws to dampen any physical shocks from the out side, combined with the enter bearing; Suscool 81 is designed to last and cool as long as your system.

Mine makes a low-pitched whinning sound and is the loudest fan in my computer case. This fan is not at all 'loud'. But my other case fans are PWM fans and only ramp-up when the BIOS informs them. Meaning, my case is absolutely dead silent most of the time. This fan is not PWM and runs full speed. I knew this before buying but being such a small fan I didn't expect for it to take away from my silence. Definitely something I was not looking forward too.

Installed in about five minutes in the ReadyNAS 600. It seems quieter than the old fan (when it worked). The cable is long enough.
