3rd solo is another one worth 4.5 stars,

As the "3rd man" of the LOX, Sheek has really put them rumors to the test. After 2 and a half years since his last solo, Sheek return with his 3rd, solo, and his 3rd 4.5 star album. Straight street like almost all of his joints, and he definitely delivers it better than most who attempt to sound street. With 16 songs, you get one almost classic, 3 ok songs, and the other 12 are good or real good. Guest aren't too heavy either, on 6 of the songs, and one more doing the hook. once again he doesn't disappoint and continues to bring a strong street album with very few radio friendly songs. Production is tight as well. Vinny Idol does 4 songs, Soul G, Mr. Devine, and Red Spyda ll do songs, and The Knocks, Marcus D'Tray, Streetrunner, Dame Grease, DJ Montay, and J Cardim all do 1 song. A must ahve street album and I'm gonna say proably gonna be one of the best albims of 2008.

Sheek Louch of the LOX returns with his third solo LP Silverback Gorilla and comes hard, but at times not hard enough...
Track Listing: 1.Lottery(skit) 2.Think We Got A Problem(featuring The Game and Bun B) Good track to start the album with, although I'm not a fan of chopped and screwed hooks. Nice verse by The Game. 4/5 3.Keep Pushin(featuring Mike Smith) Pretty good song with a very catchy r&b hook. 4/5 4.Good Love-First single and a pretty laid back/feel good track at that. 4/5 5/D-Block/Dipset(featuring Styles P, Jim Jones, Hell Rell, & Jadakiss)Very good track with tight verses from everyone(especially Jada and Hell Rell). Along with great production from Mr. Devine, this is definitely a standout track. 4.5/5 6.We At War-Decent track with a beat that had to grow on me. 3.5/5 7.Scrap To This-Nice Sample by Vinny Idol makes this a track you could definitely nod your head to. 4/5 8.Don't Be Them-Deep track discussing all the criticism an artist gets for trying to be like other artists. 4/5 9.Gettin Stronger(featuring Jadakiss and Styles P)-Follwing the great LOX reunion off Styles P's recent album, this song pales in comparison to "Gangster, Gangster" but is still a standout track on Silverback Gorilla. Nice verses with a good beat. 4.5/5 10.That's a Soldier-Visual song with an ok beat.3.5/5 11.What, What(featuring Bully)-Another visual song backed by a dark beat by Dame Grease and good verses from Sheek and Bully.4/5 12.We Comin(featuring)-Listening to this track made me ask myself, "What the hell is Unk doing on this album?" The song isn't bad but appeals more to the fans of the southern rap scene. Ok track with a repetitive hook and annoying Unk verse. One of the weaker songs on this album. 3/5 13.Crowd(skit) 14.We Spray Crowds-Another great beat from Mr Devine, along with tight verses from Sheek make this another standout track.4/5 15.Rubber Grip(featuring Fat Joe and Styles P)-Again, not a fan of the chopped and screwed hooks and this song is no different. Fat Joe delivers and idiotic verse while Styles gives a decent but predicatble verse himself. Ok track.3/5 16.2 Turntables and a Mic-Good lyrics with a funny beat.3.5/5 17.Mic Check-Very introspective and shows Sheek's ability to deliver deep tracks. One of the best songs this album has to offer.4.5/5 18.Go Hoodlums-Pretty good song to end the album with. Hook needs work though.4/5 Overall, this album is both hit and miss, but fortunately the good outweighs the bad. Good production and hardcore subject matter makes this a pretty solid effort from Sheek(although some like myself would probably enjoy his other albums slightly more). The only real complaint is the fact that some of the guest appearances are questionable(Unk, Fat Joe, Jim Jones, etc)and a couple of songs could have been left off he album. However, Silverback Gorilla is successful in being something that it is not; which is a commercial album that appeals to mainstream audiences. This album isn't for everyone, but LOX/D-Block fans should not be disappointed with Sheek's gangsta(but not so lyrical)on Silverback Gorilla.

OMG!!! this album is a must have if your a D-Block/Sheek Louch fan. The song best is Good Love track 4, the beat is raw and the hook is hot. There maybe one weak song which is Keep Pushing ft Mike Smith, but other than that the album is crazy.Top 5 tracks Good Love, D-Block/Dipset, What What, 2 Turntables and A Mic, and Getting Stronger.

I have been a fan of Sheek since The Lox. Every verse of his was my favorite. He has his own "i dont give a d**n" style. I feel this CD is his best. His mixtapes are always hot but album gives those mixtapes a run for their money. I feel all his verses. I feel all his messages. Track #3 I could do without. The rest is just FIRE!!! The is a REWINDER ALBUM!! I must have heard every song 3 times before moving on to the next. D-BLOCK!!!!!!!

A Walk Through LifeSheek louch keeps it hood on this record, some may think because of the release of his single Good Love which is a classic song that this record will be more pop but thats not the case. Sheek louch has a good flow, nice lyrics and has done a good job on putting this record together.

The Silverback Gorilla of the industry has finally struck Gold. This is probably the best that Sheek Louch can do by himself.
The production is awesome. Lyrics are awesome. guest artists are awesome. If you pick up one album this year, this is the one.
