If your case can accommodate a full 5-1/4" drive I would recommend purchasing one of those instead, but you probably wouldn't be looking at this if your case didn't require something of this design. In that case, you wont go wrong buying this.
We noticed a few people's reviews talked about the issue with the cd ejecting. When we just did the build for our Client we ran into the same issue.
The way to fix this is to remove the front plate of the Optical drive before mounting the optical drive into the SG09B case. There is 2 clips on the top front of the drive. Push them in carefully and pull the front plate forward. Carefully disengage the clips on the side. You are now ready to install the optical drive into the SG09B case.
The Optical drive works fine. Does what it is suppose to. CD's eject the right way now as well.
The integrity of cyberlink power dvd is at risk. check antivirus software for malicious activities
^ google it and you will see that everyone with a bundled package is having this error. So again nothing against the drive but dont think that you are getting a good deal because $60 software comes with it....when contacting cyberlink on this matter they tell you that upgrading to the latest version will fix the issue. First of all thats a scam...makes you believe that the error is on purpose...it was never there before. Second, upgrading does not actually fix the issue, again google the error message and countless fourms come up about this issue and upgrading does not help.
My reason for only 2 stars is because you are paying a lot for a drive that is supposed to be included with $60 software to play blu-rays but you dont actually get it.
There aren't many drives compatible with the Node 804. You need a 12.7mm slot-loading drive. The LG GS40N is 9.5mm and doesn't fit, even though PC Part Picker says it does. This is the cheapest one I've been able to find.

As for the drive itself, this is excellent so far. I have not had a ton of opportunity to make use of it, but it works solid so far. Read morePublished 2 days ago by Jesse Felt
Clip ons for the face is a little flimsy and can make it hard to set up. Feels cheaper than it looks. But once it is set up.... You can't tellPublished 1 month ago by Jakob
Works great. I mean, there's not much to it - it's a DVD drive. But it works, performs at its rates speeds, isn't noisy, and the slot load makes me feel like I'm in a sci-fi movie.Published 1 month ago by David Pierce
Right from the start it wouldn't read DVDs correctly. It was used for a christmas build so I was too late to get replacement. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Chad
The drive I received is made by Matsushita (Panasonic parent) model BD-MLT UJ265 (this is what shows in Windows) which is good. Read morePublished 2 months ago by AdamDZ
I have the same problem with my drive that others have reported on here. It immediately ejects any disc that is inserted into it. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Justin B
Silverstone has priced these sooo high, but they do work. There are some other manufactures of the slot load drive but they are terrible in comparison. Read morePublished 7 months ago by Nicholas Lenz
