Product Description

The RAVEN team's continued push to redefine and perfect the enthusiast tower chassis has resulted in yet another benchmark in the RAVEN RV03. With world-class cooling performance from the previous RAVEN chassis models retained by the included 180mm Air Penetrator fans, a rethinking of the interior layout enabled dramatic reduction in overall depth of the chassis compared to RAVEN RV02 while still matching RAVEN RV01's ability to accommodate Extended ATX motherboard and graphics cards longer than 13 inches. Cable management was also improved with a new 5cm thick hard drive compartment to allow nearly all cables to be connected behind the motherboard tray with ease. An unconventional power supply compartment located in the lower front part of the chassis further add to facilitate cable routing so anyone can assemble a pristine looking system with maximum airflow efficiency. Complementing the finely tuned and engineered interior, the RV03 has Champaign colored trimmings adorning an exterior with aggressive lines yet reserved profile. The stand out styling also fully utilizes the chassis's powerful cooling ability to full effect by a set of smartly designed, dual-purpose front bezels that helps to keep the RV03 looking sharp and uniform whether the user is setting up for maximum air cooling or for a silencing build. As a trend-setter and a computer chassis engineering showcase, the RAVEN RV03 has few equals. However, its advanced features are equally accessible that anyone from experienced enthusiasts to novice users will find easy to appreciate and utilize, making RV03 the most appealing RAVEN chassis yet!

Five stars for aesthetics, features, and innovation.

Cable routing and management is great, but does take some planning ahead or willingness to re-do things as the build progresses.

In this case, the processor runs literally 20 DEGREES COOLER!

First, the looks. I really like the looks of this case but not as well as the previous model (RV02). The colored stripes, gold or silver, look cheap to me but can be repainted if you're the crafty sort. The power supply area is open front (for air flow) and rear (for extra cable space). Unfortunately it's open with a large grill and very visible inside, so if you make a mess of the power cables it will be plain to see. The side window is on the small side and biased towards what would normally be the bottom edge of the motherboard but here is the rear of the case. The top panel hides your external cables fairly well. The white LEDs are a bit out of place, and as mentioned before the red activity LED is blindingly bright if you're at eye level with it. The front face plates can be popped apart, leaving behind just a dust filter. Unfortunately, this also leaves the square openings where the rest of the face plate attaches.

Second, the function. This case is quite flexible, offering up many potential build types. Need lots of hard drives? You can fit 10 full size and 2 SSDs (without adapters). Need 3 graphics cards? Got that covered too. Or, in my instance, want to use a 240mm radiator? Got that covered too, though you won't be able to fit an optical drive and you lose 6 HDD spaces. There is a space to add a fan at the rear of the case, for GPU cooling, and a space behind the motherboard tray to help with HDDs mounted there. Airflow is great, cooling is great, and I'm used to overclocked high-load systems so the noise is actually less than my previous system despite having added 5 non-silent fans. I did replace the stock top 120mm fan (where a 120mm radiator can also be mounted) with the same fans I used for the push on my radiator and the behind-tray exhaust.

The case was delivered in just its manufacturer packaging, which is normal due to the size. The box appeared to be in good condition, however after I inspected the unit I noticed that the thin plastic strip underneath the top cover was busted. Not only was the thin plastic strip broken, but I saw damage to the top cover itself as well. I was going to ship it back to amazon for replacement, however they ran out of stock. A quick call to the manufacturer, Silver Stone, and they're sending me a brand new top cover with no hassle. Other than that everything appears great. I did order SilverStone 140mm Fan Filter with Magnet for Case Fan/Power Supply Fan and Panel Air Vent FF141B (Black) to go on the outside panel that doesn't have the plexiglass.

I can say, overall, this case is decent. The interior design of the case is unique, I like it. But due to its specialness, it almost got to the point where I almost couldn't connect the power to my GPU. I had to stretch it because of the 90 degree positioning. Other than that this case is pretty good. Its got a plastic window to see the parts(it could be bigger, too bad its not) and looks cool with the GPU's hanging down. I would recommend this case.

I really ended up loving this case a lot. I started having a lot of cooling issues with my old case (corsair 800d) and my SLI setup with 2 GTX 670 cards. This case solved all of those and even lowered my CPU temps.

Be aware that it is going to take a while to get your computer built with this case because nothing is really in the normal spots however once finished its worth it. The only thing I don't like about this case is mounting the hard drives behind the motherboard...its going to be a pain to replace them if I ever need to.

Overall I am very satisfied with the case and feel that the price is fair for the build quality. The hard drive annoyance isn't enough for me to dock any stars.

The previous RV-02 version is beautiful like a stormtrooper. I think this one is ugly like a bad sci-fi videogame alien, but I was caught up by the lower cost & technical improvements on this newer version. This is the lowest cost of entry on the 90 degree motherboard setup & it's been great. Love the big quiet fans. All my giant PCIe cards fit nicely.
The biggest negative is the thumbscrews to open the side panels, I think any case over $50 should have a latch. Another negative I'm finding is a 90 degree motherboard case doesn't work so great under a desk, lots of hot air warms me as I work so I had to move it to the side of my worktable. Also the plastic top cover snaps on pretty violently (danger to HDDs?).

Love the design. The cooling is fantastic and there
is room for ever item you would want to put in it. I
especially like the front mounted power supply.Much less in the way and allows for superior
cable routing.
The 90 degree motherboard mounting is the reason for the great cooling and plus
the large fans in the bottom and the fan in the top keep the air moving.
I didn't care for the gold stripes,so painted mine red. Very easy to remove necessary panels and
then remove the stripe panels.

A1 in all regards. Highly recommended for anyone demanding perfection in
their system.

I bought this case because of the design.
Had some troubles with installing Corsair Cooling Hydro-Series All-in-One High-Performance Liquid CPU Cooler CWCH60 because I don't want to put it on top.
Front hard drive brackets are not easy to remove. I wish it had 8 5.25 bays, but it does not bother me much. the two 180 mm fans at bottom can be very loud if set on HI. but LOW setting does the job most of the time.
NOT IDEAL for advanced liquid cooling, but if you have the skills and knowledge you can still do it.
Don't understand why the two 180 mm fans are not aligned.
Closing the top panel can be a little dangerous to your fingers if you want to do it gently, and there should be a front handle if possible.
If you have to lift the case, use the handle at rear which is actually very strong. but DO NOT use the part where power reset buttons and V-shape led are.
Should be a 4.5 star case, but 4.5 is not doable. it is better than 4 star, so I will leave it 5 star.
