Product Description

Dust can be a computer system's worst enemy as it has the potential to lower cooling performance or cause damage when left overly accumulated. But most fan filters are a hassle to install so SilverStone created an easy to use FF122 fan filter. The FF122 has embedded magnet in its frame so it can be effortlessly attached to any steel chassis without tools. In addition to filtering dust, the FF122's grille can reduce noise associated with air turbulence. So for those looking for dust reduction for component longevity with increased cooling efficiency, the FF122 is an excellent buy.

Customer Reviews

Good quality materials and works like it should.

If you've seen the dust I vacuum from that filter, it's simply amazing.
Sully
You can use the magnets for quick mounting/dismounting, or use screws.

This is seriously one of the best fan filters. It might sound strange but I've tried a handful of fan filters and this is just the right balance of filter mesh vs airflow. For example, the magnetic demciflex filters are a poor alternative because they neither have a rigid mesh so they have a chance to rub up against the fan blades, nor do they allow enough air flow through its mesh because its of its density.

The Silversone Tek series, both 120mm and 140mm, allow a fair bit of air to flow through the mesh but after a couple weeks usage you get a pretty good coating of dust on it. (depending on your environment of course) The 5 plastic spokes give the mesh some regidity so that it can be mounted right on the fan without you having to worry about the blades hitting the mesh. The mesh is also fairly rigid itself. It's actually a very fine metal mesh. The magnet on the dust filter is pretty strong too. On my Corsair 800D, it sticks to the case easily and securely. Cleaning is a breeze too. Just pop it off and run it under some water or compressed air.

I was worried that this fan filter was going to reduce my airflow significantly and would make my computer run hot. It did nether.

The best thing is it is magnetic! It works I have several of them and they all work. I built a computer for my Grandfather and stuck these all over the case (Cooler Master Elite 371) and they work like a charm. They catch all the dog hair, dust and dirt. It does get dirty quick. Even have them on my other tech toys with fans...

I wish I had seen these sooner. I ran across a picture of someone else using it on his case and so I went searching for it. It's perfect covering my rear intake fan area, and it sticks to the case fine. If you have an aluminum case though, that might be a problem...

I bought this one because my computer case is so cheap without proper filter; however, this small thing did quite amazing job. Although I still need to un-screw it every time I need to clear the dust, it did keep my computer less dusty and easy on budget.

This is the second airvent I have purchased for my Antex 300.
I currently use it on the side exhaust vent.
The magnets are strong enough to hold it in place and the vent creates a nice seal to catch most dust.
It dust decrease air flow dramatically.

This vent is made with cheap plastic and came slightly warped.
I set it under a book for a few days to flatten it out for use standalone (I do not have a fan behind it)

Although it's quality is okay, this is still the best vent on the market!
I really wish that other vendors would make these.
It is a necessity to keep unwanted dust out of your Rig's case.

Pros
-magnetic
-can be used standalone
-easily to clean and remove

Cons
-came warped
-cheap plastic

I love my Corsair 350D. I love the one removable fan filter in the front bezel. But it's only one fan filter and anyone desiring to pull in air from the rear I/O side of the case will need to dust out his PC seemingly every day. I was one of the few who experienced this problem. The vast majority of people use the rear fan port as an exhaust, but not me--I needed to have two intakes in order to funnel a stream (I'm not sure if this is the right word) of air through my H100i radiator. So at that point I was left with two options: continue cleaning out my case every other week or invest in a fan filter. I chose the latter option.
The filter works quite well. Although the mesh is not as fine as the filter on the front bezel, it seemed to do a fairly adequate job of inhibiting dust from entering my complexly packed rig. Perhaps my only gripe is that the filter had to be installed on the inside between the case and the fan so that to clean it I would have to completely remove the fan to get access to clean it... something that will certainly prove to be a pain when I do have to clean the filter every now and then.
For what it's worth, I like this filter over several other options I've tried in the past and I regard it very highly.

Honestly I don't know why PC's don't come with dust protection when these things are so inexpensive and save you from getting a tower full of dust bunnies. I have many of these on multiple PC's and they all work great! Some are mounted to fans, others are magnetically stuck covering case vents. Only drawback (not of the product really) is where cases are plastic you have no use for the magnet which comes in handy on a metal case.
