I did some research on the company that produces this bass, and I found out that part of Danelectro.I have been playing the bass for a while and I own some pretty decent Deans,I wanted a cheap Jazz bass and I found the silvertone crusher, well I just got it the other day and I used it at a show last night,it preformed very well,so she is a keepr. It play well right out of the box,all I had to do was give a slight adjustment to the bridge and tune up.Its a good deal

Hey, ya'll.
I've been a guitartist for a looooong time. This is my first bass ever. I wanted something that was inexpensive, but not cheap! Well, I have to say that the bass is actually pretty good. Straight neck, excellent frets, no blems, good tone (although the tone knob is a tiny scratchy). The bass feels good, kind of light, but not too light. It's actually much darker than pictured. I thought it was black when I opened the box! Here's something weird: the neck pup's volume actually decreases slightly when it's turned all the way up! If I back off a tiny bit, it increases. No biggie. It really does sound good. I'm happy with the bass (especially since I put some Hartke medium gauge strings on it). Definitely worth more than the kit's price. Now for the amp: the volume is not bad at all (for practicing alone). It has pretty good tone. The only problem is FEEDBACK. TONS of it. If I take my strumming hand off the bass, I get tons of feedback through the amp (it only happens with this amp...none of my other amps, which are guitar amps or even my Digitech RP-55). Even happens when using the headphone jack. I'm gonna have to take it apart and check the wiring. Still, for practice, it's not the worst amp, but it is far from the best. Hey, for $127, I'm not complaining too much. I give it 4 stars based on the bass, deducted 1 for the amp. So, I recommend it...as I said I'm happy with it (moreso for the bass, but the amp will do for now). Ya dig? Opps! Almost forgot: the cord didn't work (I have several, so no problem). The bag is ONLY good to keep dust off (get a hard or padded case for transport). Haven't used the strap, yet (it's cheap). Picks...who cares, it's a bass! Video? Maybe I'll look at it someday, but I have other sources and lessons.

At $100 I wasn't expecting much from this Bass and was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a really nice instrument overall. The sound is fantastic and while I do get a bit of fret buzz it doesn't come through the amp so it's all good. The DVD was really blech and I found it more useful to just learn from the internet than from the DVD. The amp was great, not the loudest thing in the world but I only intended to use it for practice anyway so it fit my needs to a tee. My only complaint at all is that the case that it came with was very VERY flimsy. One of the sides tore and the zipper broke within 2 weeks so investing in a nice padded gig bag will be worth looking into.
All in all an excellent instrument and a worthwhile buy for anyone looking for an inexpensive Bass, had mine for 2 months and it's still going strong!

Paid $103 for the kit (Looks like the price changes from times times, guess it depends on the supply from the distributor, so don't be afraid of waiting till the price gets cheaper) The 12th Fret on my G string started rattling by the 2nd week. The tuner is pretty bad, inconsistent with hearing the notes. Amp does its job and is pretty good for coming in a Kit. The sound from the bass is very good overall, my experienced Guitar friends who have more of the expensive stuff really enjoy playing it, and love the sound. The DVD starts out pretty nice, but it transitions too fast into the lessons, tried out the website but it seems like its broken or its just not updated. I recommend this kit to any beginner just starting out.

This is an Excellent Starter Bass guitar the sound is good.. has a nice thunderous tone.. I recommend buying another bag though this one is a bit thin and my zipper was popped when i got it...... the amp is good for practice.. dont need much bigger for practice. i rate this item 4/5 deduct one point because of gig bag being flimsy. its an awesome pack... a must buy.

the amp is weak, but good, for beginners.
the bass itself is great. it is a keeper. i have two other jazz basses, one of them is supposed to be a "better name brand" bass, the Crusher sounds better. I am happy with this bass.

I ordered this bass guitar as a self bought birthday present expecting it to arrive after my birthday. It arrived 3 days after the order was placed!!!! It came as advertised and plays well. The instructional DVD included acoustic and electric lessons which has encouraged my daughter to refocus on her acoustic guitar. I would do this again and do business with this vendor at the next opportunity. Thank you Amazon for having these people on your site!!

This is a great starter pack at a great price! (unbeatable?) Despite some reviews where people may say it's worthless, I can say as an experienced and active musician (12+ years) that this pack is just what needed to get a starter motivated. The bass guitar, as with any other low or high end instrument, needs to be properly setup to make it work effectively and adjusted as a maintenance routine now and then. For the price you get more than asked for in my honest opinion. All the little extras (tuner, bag, picks, cable...) add up for a terrific gift, no where online did I find a better price and package.
