This was the first guitar I got and started me in the right direction. This is a well made guitar and plays great. If your a beginner I recommend this one to get. The guitar and amp is what any beginner needs to get started. Also you get picks, a cool instructional video, and a tuner which are all decent items. Even though I didn't get a new guitar yet and am still using this one but I did get a better amp at $150. Really, this is worth the money and is a really great guitar package.

got this in a guitar shop, same price, well worth it, much better than any other guitar package ive found and cheaper. the guitar is good, easy to handle, the amp is decent, depending on the tones your looking for, the overdrive channel is actually better than that on a crate amp ive used, the tone controls arent bad but a mid eq know would be nice, cables arent bad mine lasted about 9 months, the tuners good ive still been using it works nicely even with acoustics, but it can sometimes go awire. the learner dvd isnt bad either, only complaint ive had is the bad hum, the gig bag isnt bad either, it lasted about a year and a half before one of the straps went out, and i traded the strap for a guitar hero controller one, but it seemed fine, just dont take it on and off alot or youll wear it out. over all, its nice

Good for the money is the obvious refrain, but this is also a solid, well-built guitar. The amp is plenty loud enough to annoy the neighbors when you practice. A nice kit for starting out. Later on you can decide whether you're going to stick with it and get something nicer, or whether it was a temporary pastime. And remember, if you (or the kids) stop using it, it's still worth a good fraction of the new price at a garage sale. There are always folks buying their first guitar kit.

I checked various sites online to find the right electric guitar for my son, who is 12. I wanted one that would have everything needed to start playing from day one at the right price. I also wanted to make sure it would be suitable as he grew and advanced in his playing. I feel that this guitar package fit the bill. It was packaged very carefully to ensure that it wasn't scratched or damaged in shipping. It sounds great, has a very nice case and amp (as well as the DVD, tuner, extra strings, etc.)and appears to be of high quality. My son was thrilled to receive this beautiful guitar, and I know he will have years of enjoyment of it.

This is a great starter electric guitar kit. You could easily spend a lot more time & money at the local music store, buying the same equipment. I'm no pro but you can really learn and build up from this very basic kit.

My only complaint is that it seems to need constant tuning and the tremolo bar isn't great and seems to add to the need for constant tuning. But if you know how to tune a guitar easily, it's not much of a problem.

I'd recommend this kit to anyone else looking to learn how to play electric guitar.

I purchased this for my son who wants to learn how to play guitar. Let's just say he was quite happy on Christmas morning! He has been playing ever since and is making quite the noise! Anyway the guitar is very sturdy and looks cool. The amp is perfect for a beginner. The tuner is quite nice and the gig bag is perfect. I was also very satisfied with the quickness that the guitar came. Overall I am very pleased with my experience. I will buy another guitar thru Amazon.

This was a great deal, a brand I was not familiar with but that really doesn't seem to be a problem. I am new to guitar so I didn't want to start out with something super expensive. It is great for a beginner like myself. The package is a great deal, you get everything you need to start playing as soon as you get the box from amazon.

After deciding to go with Amazon.com for my purchase of the Silvertone guitar package I was amazed at how soon it arrived. Product & contents were well packaged.This is very good starter guitar for any beginner. In the second week I broke a string but the DVD shows you how to change it & re-tune. For the beginner this guitar & package has everything needed. THe price & quality were a plus.

This is a great guitar for beginners or professionals alike. The amp is great, and the guitar is a quality product. One of my strings broke the day I got the guitar, but we simply replaced it and moved on.

I'd highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a quality product at a great bargain.

I was really quite happy with this guitar -- nice amp, beautiful design, good sound -- but within a day of playing it, the notes on the first fret stopped working, giving a "twang" sound instead of a note. I tried adjusting all the adjustable features, but it just got worse and worse. I can't tell if I just happened to get a lemon, or if they all break eventually.

I ended up exchanging it for a "Squier" by Fender Squier by Fender Stop Dreaming-Start Playing Set: Affinity Special w/ Fender 15G Amplifier, Metallic Blue -- I recommend that one instead -- it's better built, more reputable brand, and a bit more fun to play (though a bit more expensive).

The good news is that Amazon is GREAT with returns, they took it right back, and even paid for shipping.
