5.0 out of 5 stars Ah, back, (ok, WAY back) in the day!
I'm sure almost no one would even be able to play this game on our computers these days, but when this game came out, it was the rage.
The graphics sucked, the sounds resembled those of "Pong," the interface was kid of funky, and there was no online play, (As online was in its genesis than), but what a blast it was to play!!!
One could, (And did) spend hours...

One could, (And did) spend hours of days making you perfect, or not so perfect city. It was difficult keeping your Sims happy, which is still the point of the game now, but the complex simplicity of the game was Great!
You could play it out of the box, and just start having a blast. You didn't have to be a biology, social engineering, major to watch your city flourish, or turn into a slum, depending on how good you got.
I sound old, (Maybe because, well I am 50) but they should make a game now that doesn't feel like you're learning to fly a DC10. How about making one just for laughs, and a hell of allot of fun!
This was THE one.

To my surprise, this product performed perfectly to its specifications on a Windows 7 Operating System.
The simplicity of operation is the key asset.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do buy!, January 8, 2012

I love ALL of the simcity games. Though I prefer to play the first on SNES, on pc it's also a blast. Not only that- it started an entire genre of world building games that raged until the early 2000's. Simple, fun, and easy to get used to, it somehow manages to stay quirky and upbeat even when your city is about to collapse into miserable poverty. 5 stars, for sure!!!

But note: make sure you're buying it on the right system! I've heard that the DOS version (here) will work for windows, but they make a pc version more finely tailored to it. You also don't want to buy SNES, C64, or something similar (unless you own one...) and end up with a cartridge! I can see it now: "What is this? Some kind of demented giant floppy disc?!"

I purchased this game for my son-in-law for Christmas. I've never actually played the game. Although, I do know that if there was a problem with it, He (my son-in-law) would let me know. Great purchase! Great Price!!!
