Fun game but not a lot of variety, July 14, 2007
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Sim Tower: The Vertical Empire (CD-ROM)
Sim Tower is fun to play, but once you get everything set up in your tower, there are not a whole lot of options to add new items. You have to earn stars and you do so by adding in items such as condos, restaurents, and hotel rooms. As you gain stars, you gain more items to add in your hotel such as stores and a movie theater. Once you get so far in the game, or if you run out of money, there is not a whole lot you can do. It is fun to play though, especially if your just looking for a game to play but don't have a lot of time.

As a child of the '90s I was able to experience this fun little game during it's prime. I used to spend hours on it. To this day I still play it now and then. I have no idea what makes it so addicting. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is because there are some important things they leave out of the help manual. For example, each housekeeping facility can only serve 6 floors of hotel rooms, and the hotel rooms have to be either on the same level as the housekeeping facility or above it. If you have a large hotel and don't follow these guidelines, your hotel rooms might become roach infested. Also, to get a three story lobby, hold shift and control keys down when placing it. I guess they wanted it to be a secret but I don't see why because it's not like it's cheating or anything.

The only thing that could make this game better is an updated re-make. I grew up playing this along with a few of the other Sims games (farm, copter, city, and ant) and its probably the one I love the best.
