Vanessa da Mata is still (unfortunately) a bit unknown outside of Brasil, but hopefully not for much longer; she's got a great voice in its own right, and this album is a great showcase.
There are several SIM releases, but this one is the best one to get since it's got 2 bonus tracks that the other ones don't have; and actually one of the them, the Deep Lick Radio Remix version of "Ai,Ai,Ai" is awesome; it's that kind of songs you can listen and dance to at high class Discos; check it out. What stroke me was the fact that Vanessa composes many of these songs, she also plays the guitar and sings beautifully. Also, I'd like to mention that on cut number 12 "Meu Deus", she invited big names to play with her; people like: - Joao Donato / Piano - Jota Moraes / Vibraphone and Marimba - Wilson Das Neves / Drums - Don Chacal / Percussions - Alberto Continentino / Bass and many more. Check this album out and let's help her become more recognized outside of Brasil like other great Brazilian Divas. |
