I love SimCity on a computer, and thought it would be fun to have on my PlayStation. I was dead wrong. The people that ported this to the PS were downright lazy and didn't do a thing to optimize the game. The controllers are horribly painful to use, the interface is horrendous, the scrolling of the game board is slower than a three-toed sloth. I'm sorry I ever bought this game.

I bought SimCity 2000 right when it came out. I play this gamenon-stop. Most of the time, while I build my cities I lose track oftime it's so much fun. SimCity 2000 is a good buy! Trust me! END

Sim City 2000 - Playstation,

We first saw this SimCity 2000 for Playstation at my sisters house, when our 13 year old son played it he just couldn't get off of it as he was having so much fun. Well, I played it, a late 30's year old woman and I loved it too, it was very interesting and I found that I just could not walk away. So, I ordered it from Amazon for our son for Christmas, to surprise him, he really loves it as this is the only game he'd play, so I can't wait to see his face on Christmas morning. I can tell you now, our son, me and my husband will all want to play it at the same time, that is how good this game is. I highly recommend it to anyone, the price is excellent from Amazon, ... so thank you amazon for helping make our son have a special, surprising Christmas. Really, do spend the money on this game, you will be glad you did.

This game was fun at first, but it was annoying how everything was so small! And when you zoomed in, you were too close to actually "build" anything. I would say instead of wasting your money on this, buy SimTower or the new upcoming "The Sims" where you control the people, their lives, their neighbors etc. Have FUN!

I was a little sceptical at first, but once I started figuring things out it really got addicting. If you can get over the poor graphics, Sim City 2000 can be a blast! I can't wait untill The Sims comes to PSX!

This is years and years later, after it was released, long after it was just gathering dust on the shelf. Decided to play it again. Once you get the hang of it, it can actually be quite... addicting. If your into city planning games (or just want to kill some time) for the price tag now a days, it's worth it. Some people have complained and stated that no one comes to their cities. The only problem I see with this is that, within one day of playing (and doing other things) I have built my first city (years later remember) again up to 9,000+ people within two hours.
Would I recommend it for a gamer of this generation? Probably not. Would I recommend it for a gamer of the nintendo generation? Most definately. It's good, in it's own way. Don't let this fool you though, the graphics aren't the best, but it's a good game for less than you pay for some of the small games you can find online. It could of definitely of been ported better, instead of just thrown together, and then given a PS1 title. But it's still a good time killer.

SIMCITY 2000 was the 2nd game release in the Sim series of games. My roommate had a version of the game when we were in college that he played endlessly. For students raised on the unbelievable graphics and intricate gameplay of video games that are now available, SIMCITY 2000 will probably seem boring. However, the game can be quite fun to play and can even be educational (due to the problem solving nature of certain aspects of the game).
In the game, you can either choose to build and run a city from scratch or choose one of the preplanned cities based upon cities in the real world, called scenarios, and choose to run one of those. There really is no end to the game because you can keep building or destroying the cities as long as you want to. However, if you build enough Launch Arcologies and enough time has passed, an "exodus" will begin to occur and the Launch Arcologies will actually launch into outerspace, taking all their citizens with them, but leaving behind lots of money in the treasury. Well, at least that's what I'm told, I built my city from scratch starting in 1900 and had about 300 Launch Arcologies by the year 5000 and I still didn't see one launch. Overall, SIMCITY 2000 might seem tame by many gamers raised on Xbox 360s and Playstation 3s. However, if you enjoy have patience; enjoy trying to creating a world from scratch, but don't want to deal with too many minute details; and don't mind an old-school type video game, you might enjoy creating a city and trying to make it succeed in SIMCITY 2000.

When you learn how to build a city, it's hard to stop. This features hours of play time and no matter how much you play. Every city you build is different. The sculpt you own land is a great feature. The only problem is waiting for your money to build up so your city can grow.

I bought this game, I thought that it would be the coolest game ever, and then I bought it, the graphics were bad, the scrolling was worse, and the zooming? Don't even ask. I suggest you buy a different game, Like Total Annilation for the PC. Or Command and Conquer. But stay away from this game. That's it back away, turn around..... back away from the simcity 2000.
