It took me a while to figure out how to play the game, but once I figured it out it was a lot of fun, especially being able to "talk" with the Sims to get their opinions, and being able to "meet" with several characters from time to time. I especially enjoyed "meeting" with the "nuns" that I lovingly refered to as the Sweet Sisters of Extortion (you will understand what I mean when you meet them yourself)!
I went through three "ages" and really got into the game, but then the final "age" came along and all the Sims wanted to do was scold me for Global Warming. No matter what I attempted to do to improve the environment, they kept grousing at me. I almost quit playing altogether.
So, overall a great game, but they could have left out the lectures!

I hated the first simcity game for the DS and was super skeptical about this game, but I gave it a shot and in my opinion they fixed the ills of the first game. This is much more fun since you get to change time periods all the way from the dawn of man to the future. Many more disasters take place and you don't get bored after an hour of playing the game. I highly reccomend this game

If you are a frustrated city planner, this is the game for you. You can and probably will spend hours building your civilizations to move to the next level. It actually is a good game to play while you're watching TV because you need to sit it down every once and awhile and allow your cash accumulate so you can afford to build more hospitals, schools or whatever your city needs.

This is the first sim city I've have played since sim city 3000 and the first one that was not on a PC since sim city for the super Nintendo.It has the same graphics as sim city 3000, but the play is different. I like playing the eras, It helps the game from getting boring.I would like to be able to build on top of tree like in other sim city games instead of having to pay to remove them. Other than that it is a great game, I would recommend this for someone's very first sim city game.

I love SimCity, so I was eager to try this version for the DS. As some other people have said, the controls are a little difficult to figure out at first. Once I figured out that I could use the buttons to scroll around instead of moving the stylus over the screen, that part became much easier. In the first time period, you have to be careful to put things exactly where you want them because you can't dezone or demolish (although there is an undo button). Dezoning and demolishing are possible in later time periods though.

Once I figure out the little quirks, it plays pretty much like SimCity for the PC. Overall, it seems to be a pretty fun game.

i just bought this game and i'm already addicted to it. it's very similar to the PC version - that i haven't been able to play on my computer in years - very fun game, definitely recommend it.

My 9 year old has this game for his ds. He enjoys it and I think overall it's a fun game but it does contain language that some parents may object to. The game is rated E for everyone but at one point my son showed me the screen in which a boy character on the game had a speech bubble that said "Arggh, I hate these d*** mosquitoes!" (That 'd' word would rhyme with ham by the way). Also when the characters are angry about something (i.e. high taxes), their language can be a little rough around the edges. Not trying to be holier than thou, just wanted other parents to be aware of this.

Not fun because it makes a fire in your city which you cannot prevent until you reach further in the game. Fires happen frequently and spread easily, destroying half of your city. Graphics are also not as good as they show in pictures.

This game is a nice spin on Sim City. It is a bit slow-going, but it is easy to learn and maintain the city. I find it fun and addictive and I'm in my 30's, so I figure kids will like it, too. The only downside is that you have to play the challenge mode first so that you can unlock everything for sandbox mode. I've always been one to go straight to the sandbox; however, the challenge mode is not that hard and offers hours of gameplay. I also don't like natural disasters and they happen frequently in challenge mode, so that's another minus. It uses the DS faculties well. Overall, this is a good DS game.

I love the Sim games. I enjoy creating from the very beginning. Sometimes it's a bit slow, but that's the point. Building a civilization and cities takes awhile. I am enjoying very much.
