I enjoy the core gameplay of SimCity, but $15 for a couple of small building sets is highway robbery, especially for a game that sold initially for $60.

These building sets should have been included with the game. Selling them separately is unconscionable.

It amazes me that EA has the nerve to release day one DLC on a game that is broken. If they wanted these designs in the game from day one they should have included them in the full game. I guess EA didn't learn their lesson from being named the worst company of the year. They will continue their crusade for day one DLC.

1.0 out of 5 stars DLC + DRM = FAIL March 8, 2013
Why would anyone spend another $15 bucks to NOT us DLC in a $60 game they cannot use? Why was this not included in the game original game? It isn't like they just made this in the last 3 days, this "content" was created along with the game, ripped out, and they're trying to sell it back to us. Greedy Bast@rds!

1.0 out of 5 stars Feeling cheated? You are not alone March 12, 2013

Ok lets get this straight. EA releases SimCity in 2013 with not even half of the building options as the previous iterations..... then has the nerve to sell AT LAUNCH building expansions? You sell me the full game for one price, dont sell me a watered down game then expect me to pay MORE for the rest of the content. Add on content should be developed after the game is developed and moved on to the QC stage. It is rediculous to reduce the amount of content we get by default so customers are inclined to spend more on add on content. That is like making a FPS game and charging people a "add on fee" to get more ammo then they start out with. Shame on you EA.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boycott Simcity and EA Maxis March 25, 2013
Forbes recently reported that Ea and Maxis are `sticking to their guns' and `defending' THEIR vision of this game. The bottom line is they aren't listening to what WE the consumer want who actually go out and BUY their product. It's a sad day when companies could care less what their buying public is asking for. So go ahead EA and Maxis. Stick to your guns and we'll stick to ours and pass on this ridiculous version of a once great game.

Boycott Simcity and EA/Maxis.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really, EA? March 20, 2013
I do enjoy playing the game when I'm not having Internet connection or server issues, but I'm with most of the other reviewers who say that these type of add-ons are an absolute rip-off. I can't believe the audacity of EA. Like the people before me said, these things should have been included with the game.

I could understand if the game has been out for a year or whatever, and the developers created some new content for it--much like expansion packs for the Sims--but the game has just barely been released! Why weren't these "add-ons" or whatever included with the game? Mind you, a game that cost 60 bucks to begin with. Someone above referred to SimCity as a "watered down" game and in a way I have to agree with that given that EA is already trying to sell these extras for it.

It kind of reminds me of those "stuff" packs for the Sims. You pay $20 for a few measley items. It isn't worth the money. EA should be kissing the butts of all the people they've inconvenienced since the game's launch and giving them free add-ons and content for the game, if anything.

Again, while I personally have enjoyed playing this game, I completely understand why so many people are SO frustrated and upset. This is just ridiculous.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective by Design March 8, 2013
Because EA chose to tether a single-player game to an online server, they've created a situation where any server problems will screw up your own, private, single-player game.

Their latest attempt to "fix" the problems the game has been having is to remove the ability to play the game at speed so it won't talk to the server as often. Yeah, instead of disabling the misfeature where the game constantly talks to the server, they took an important feature away. Yes, fast forward is an important feature: I can't think of a Sim* game where I haven't kept it on the fastest speed 90% of the time.

Oh, and they're _still_ refusing to give refunds.

I honestly hope this is EA's first step towards Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

1.0 out of 5 stars always online requirement March 8, 2013
Always online is an awful thing to ask of your customers, Mazis. DO NOT BUY THE 2013 VERSION OF SIMCITY OR THESE ADD-ONS.
