5.0 out of 5 stars Very simple and easy tool. And NO scratch!!
It looks like this product has been around for years. (There have been good reviews since October 2000.) So I decided to get one. I received it quickly from Amazon (with no shipping charge since I purchased other stuff that exceeded $25). I must say I like it very much. And I will buy a few more with my next Amazon purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sima Lens Pen, not exactly what I expected
I should have taken measurements of my camera before bying this item. I have
a small sony cybershot. I was able to clean the lens with this, but only with
the tip at an extreme angle wiping with the edge of the little round disk. It
did the trick, but this device is not for pocket size cameras. It's for larger

It looks like this product has been around for years. (There have been good reviews since October 2000.) So I decided to get one. I received it quickly from Amazon (with no shipping charge since I purchased other stuff that exceeded $25). I must say I like it very much. And I will buy a few more with my next Amazon purchase.

I tried it on my lowly point-and-shoot 35mm Olympus camera first. The brush does not seem to scratch the optical lens and the compound works like a charm. After that test I moved on to my Nikon Coolpix digital camera, Nikon N70 35mm SLR and my new Nikon digital D70 SLR. Under bright lamp, I carefully examined the lens surface, it passed my eyes. No scratches or lines. It really does a great job. I am impressed.

I was tempting to buy a similarly priced Nikon brand cleaning pen but now I don't need to. This one already does all I need to do.

Now my next step is to get one for each camera bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to keep 'em smudges out of the way, October 6, 2000

How many times has the "perfect sunset" turned out more like a "perfect egg yolk"?

How many times have you taken a picture, only to be disappointed by the results?

Your camera could be the best, the film could be most ideal....and you could even be the best photographer! But, dirt, smudges, oil, greasy coating et al on the lens could ruin the perfect result!

It is so simple now with this pen to "wipe away your worries", and get the perfect results!

I would strongly recommend this to all photographers, whether professional, progressional or amateur. The new "dirtbuster" works wonders for your photographs and your reputation as a photographer!

It is easy to use, inexpensive and extends the life of your precious lenses.

Never had one of these before.. easy to carry and use and really works a treat !

I searched around until I found a marker cap that fits the brush end so dirt can't get into retracted brush between uses. they should have done that but none of the brands do that I've seen.

Good item..
Caution; Some other well known brands of the SAME tool can cost over $20 and seem to be the same Mfg.

Who needs ANOTHER cleaning kit? This one does it all. Very handy lens cleaning tool easily used to remove dust, fingerprints, smudges, etc. from your lenses. Buy two - one for the camera bag and one for the home. A must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars From the Coliseum to the Parthenon, the Sima Lens Pen rocks!, December 13, 2001

I purchased the Sima Lens Pen based on another Amazon review before departing on a month-long tour of Europe. I carried this product throughout Italy, France, Spain and Greece and I was amazed at its simple, effective and compact design. Not only did I constantly use it on my own camera, but this product was the hit of my tour group and I was constantly called upon to use it in order to clean other people's lenses as well. (Apparently, no one else on the tour realized that along with a camera and film, a lens cleaner is not optional.)

Given that a clean lens is an absolute prerequisite to a sharp photo, don't trust your memories to anything less than the Sima Lens Pen. This product is superb!

It works, it works! Great antidote for curious young fingers and clumsy old ones. And you can carry it anywhere, as you would a thick pen with a good clip.

Note that Nikon sells an identical item for slightly more. Actually, the plastic slider button is a different color, but otherwise it is identical. I wonder who the OEM is?

5.0 out of 5 stars My expectations were blown away, June 2, 2006
This review is from: Sima Lens Pen (Electronics)
I decided to try this out after wasting many hours trying to get my lenses looking brand-new again with a cleaning cloth and solution, which was really annoying and kept leaving streaks that weren't even there to begin with. So, I ordered a LensPen and figured I'd give it a shot. I was skeptical at first, but let me tell you; I will never use anything other than this to clean my lenses again. Period. It literally cleans the lens instantly and takes no effort at all. Plus, having the retractable brush was a nice touch. This thing works, and it works well. If you hate cleaning your lenses the conventional way, give this a shot. You won't be disappointed.

I used it to remove the stain on the lens of my kodak dx7630.
It works, but I think the tip of "cleaning compound" (I do not know whether it is called like this. Then pen has two ends. One is a brush, and the other is this) is too large for my lens. It would be perfect if the tip were smaller.

Works as described. Good construction for a plastic brush pen. Nothing bad to say about it. It wiped off marks on the front element. You def purchase again.
