The Sima SL-20IR Night Vision Light is a great product for the Night Vision effect. No light is visible to the human eye, but the camera picks up on the Infrared light given of by the IR LED's. A great product, but don't let Amazon fool you with there picture. They show a product with 3 panels of Night Vision attachments, but when you pay you only get one panel. Besides the false picture, the product is great for the the very low- to complete darkness video shooting.

I have purchased four of these lights for my two camcorders. I have both a mini dv and an HDD camera. Being a ghost hunter, you have to have an IR light for your cameras or you'll miss shots in the dark.
These lights have worked phenomenally well for me! They are rechargeable so that means less batteries to buy. We go through enough batteries as it is so this feature is very helpful. They stay charged for a good while. We have run the lights on the cameras for as long as 2 hours and the lights stay charged. That's pretty good, considering.

I intend to buy 4 more of these lights so that each of my cameras will have the capacity to see a good distance in cemeteries and in open fields.
The lighting you get from these is exceptional as well! When you turn your video camera on nightshot mode then turn on your first IR light, you can see a tremendous difference! Then, turn on yet another and even more is seen in the dark. You have to be careful not to over illuminate smaller areas because you'll get that washed out effect.

I highly recommend these IR lights for ghost hunters and anyone else that spends a lot of time shooting video in the dark. These are exceptional products at a great price!

This light works very well. You have to use it with a camcorder which has good night vision, though. I was not able to use it with my JVC. My older Sony, however, has NightShot and the light works so well with it, that a pitch black room becomes "bright". My only other complaint is that it only runs for about 45 mins on a charge and does not accept batteries.

This item is only working with Night Light Mode equipped on your camcorder. Please note, you only get ONE unit for the price and don't let the stock photo foooooool you because you won't get visible light either. However, it works fine and great help in a very dark condition WITH your Night Light Mode turn on.

While this might work OK with SOME video cameras, it's useless with my Canon Vixia HF100. It turns out some cameras, such as the HF100 and its siblings, have internal infrared filters to prevent infrared from distorting normal video. These cameras can't "see" the light produced by this video light.

This is something Sima should make clear but they don't. They should have a list of known compatible cameras. I'm told many of the newer digital HD video cameras have infrared filters in them. So buyer beware!

This item works works very well for providing camcorder night vision, and for $45 is much cheaper than most other night vision options. The only downfall is the battery life. It takes about 3 hours to fully charge, and only gives you 45 - 60 minutes of use before needing recharged. It will not work while the charger is attached, and it has a internal non-replaceable battery. I will be using this item for all night paranormal investigations, and the short usage time will be a problem. If they could give this thing a better power source, it would be a amazing item!

This IR Light would be okay if you could use it with the wall plug powering it. Sadly, you can't. You can only use the plug to charge the internal battery. The battery life is less than 30 minutes. Waste of money.

I bought these with the thought that I could get as good a view as they advertise (see pictures on the packaging) and it is nothing like that. The image is horrible and the battery life is horrible. I really wish I had never bought them. Save yourself some trouble and get a IR flood light of the same frequency that runs on 115 like this one [...].
