Great product,

I bought this flute for my daughter as her beginner's flute when she started band in 5th grade. She is now in 8th grade and it has worked wonderfully for those years. We did replace the pads this year, but that only cost us about $40.00, a necessary routine repair with any instrument at times. I would highly recommend this instrument for any beginner. The prices are reasonable for this instrument compared to others, so until a child figures out that they want to stay with the music, it is the best economic choice for the value!

Avoid like the plague,

I bought one of these for my daughter for $119. Total ripoff...it's unplayable. The pads don't seal and one of the keys closes when another one is pushed. The problem is that on a REAL flute, that isn't supposed to happen. It's pretty and shiny, but sounds dreadful. She had to use it at band camp for a couple of days while waiting for her Gemeinhardt to come in the mail and was so frustrated that she nearly quit band. I wish that I had read some reviews before I bought it because it was a complete waste of money.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!,

BUYER BEWARE!!!! I have never owned one and never will because these mass-produced Chinese flutes are not flutes at all, but rather wall hangings. They are shoddy instruments and the scales are terrible. I think it's a crime that they promote them as being durable and reliable, because they are NOT! If you need to have them adjusted or have the pads replaced, you will most likely find that no repair tech is willing to touch it for fear that it will fall apart in their hands. The metal is so soft that it bends and the keys are so shallow that they will not hold pads correctly. I've heard that pads can fall out and keys can fall off! This would never happen on a good quality flute!
If you want to find a flute, save your money for one that will last forever or buy a used one! They are easy to find and hold up much better than these mass-produced flutes. I recommend Yamaha, Jupiter and Pearl because they have been around for a while. Yamaha is the front runner in student flutes and they also make intermediate and professional instruments.

Wow! What a disappointment.,

My husband bought me a Simba flute . I didn't play it much after the first couple of months. I pulled it out about two years later to play a tune and then once this year. Now I'm ready to show my daughter how to play and the flute is falling apart.
I played a Yamaha flute years ago for 15 years and never had my flute break on me. The material doesn't seem as sturdy. My daughter is so eager to learn and now I have to either worry about getting her another brand or trying to get this one repaired. Hopefully she won't lose interest in the meantime. What ashamed!

This flute is a great begginers flute. It arrived with one of the pads unglued. I had to have that part repaired, but for the price and the use it is getting it is a great purchase.
