Simbiosis - A peaceful escape!!,

Simbiosis is a wonderful, one-of-a-kind album. It is such a peaceful escape, you are instantly transported to the middle of a tropical rain forest within the first few seconds of listening to it. And that is actually where you are! Manuel Obregon recorded this CD right in the middle of an actual Costa Rican rainforest!! He brought his piano and other instruments to the jungle and recorded them, plus a wonderful assortment of natural fauna sounds (including howling monkeys and birds) mixed together to make a wonderfully "natural" jungle melody. Get lost in it with pleasure!

My wife and I just returned from a trip with 16 high school students to Costa Rica, and the bus driver put this on over the bus sound system near the end of our trip. It is an incredibly gentle set of compositions, mixing piano music (in the Wyndham Hill/George Winston style) with natural rainforest sounds. The price on Amazon (from "new and used") is a bit high, but the MP3 album price on Amazon is simply a steal for this wonderful album.

I can not be more proud of my countryman Manuel Obregón (current Minister of Culture of Costa Rica). This work is one of the most valuable jewels of the Costa Rican contemporary music.
It's both a tribute to our natural resources as a lament and call attention to that we are losing. "Requiem for the Golden Frog" -for example- is one of the more full of melancholy melodies I've heard. The album in general is full of tunes can transport anyone to the depths of our rainforests. I also recommend the DVD version, but for now is sold out on Amazon. This indicates the acceptance it has had. Hopefully we will soon have a new reissue.

Waking Up To The Rainforest,

After spending 9 days with the Clipper Cruise Line in the Costa Rican rainforests, I was awakened on my birthday morning to this CD...played as the wake-up call through the ship's stereo system, it sounded just like the adventures of the week. The music is haunting and the sounds of the rainforest are authentic. You are immediately transported.....FABULOUS! P.S.--Clipper Cruise Line is the way to go to the jungles of Costa Rica!! Small ship cruising with adventurous naturalists! WOW!

My wife and I once went to Costa Rica to submerge ourselves in the famous cloudforrests and rainforrests. It was a wonderfull experience. This album brings us back there in a second. It really gets to us, and every time a little bit more!
