I instantly became a Simien the Whale fan after watching their live at WKAR BackStage Pass in East Lansing.

When they played "Jesus, Help Us" (from the album "1982"), and at that moment when a Strat with distortion in perfect harmony with a bass produced that amazing tone, I knew that my heart rocked along with it.

Of course, I also got "1982."

If you love groovy baseline and funky/rhythmic guitar, then this is your album.

Favorites:
One Night Only.
Keep on Marching.
Easy Way.
Mason County Boy.
Bend Not Break.

Especially, Mason County Boy made me want to be one of those Mason County boys. It will make you smile in reminiscence of your early days in your hometown.

Just saw these guys on Backstage Pass on PBS in Eureka, CA... I'm no critic, but I have played a lot of Blues/Indie Rock/Jazz & Funk in the last 50 years and these guys are fresh and tight... so get it!!
