It's allergy season again and every time I check the weather online I also am also seeing the statement "Very High Pollen Level." Anyone suffering from allergies could tell you that without even stepping outside. I don't mind having to carry around tissues or a handkerchief and having a stuffed up nose nearly as much as having eye irritation. Last year I tried Claritin for relief and the burning sensation drove me crazy. Admittedly we all rub our eyes, but to add the burning was just another aggravation (sorry Claritin). I ended up having to use ice packs to relieve the burning sensation in addition to trying to relieve the itchy one.

This year I went to the pharmacy as soon as I started feeling that itchy, burning sensation to see what was available. There are a lot of products out there and I decided to try out Similasan mainly because it had `100% Natural Active Ingredients."

Apis 6X for the burning, itching, and stinging sensation

Euprasia 6X for the redness, swelling, watering

Sabadilla 6X for the watering and redness of lids

(Inactive ingredients are borate butter, purified water, silver sulphate (the preservative) and sodium nitrate).

When I opened the box and removed the cap to the bottle it had a long, wide plastic tip. It looked like the type that one would clip off the top ... don't do it. It is simply wider and longer that most eye drop applicators. I did wash my hands before using it to keep from accidentally contaminating the drops. First of all there was NO stinging or burning when I applied the drops. There was no instant relief, but rather a slow, but steady one. This is a homeopathic product that Similasan claims "stimulates the body's natural ability to relieve the symptoms of allergies such as burning, itching, redness and excessive watering of your eyes."

I'm being proactive and trying to head the irritation off at the pass. In the morning I add a couple of drops to each eye and apply a cool cloth to them for a minute or so. I apply drops as needed during the day, but seem to have much less irritation than last year. So far, so good and I'm quite pleased with these drops. They are not perfect in that they do not provide instant relief, but better than their well known rival. I'll update during the season if I find that they don't continue to work as well as they do now. After opening it is recommended you only use it for 30 days so purchase according to your allergy season.

I have moderate to severe allergies. At work, after being on the computer for 8 hours, my eyes get dry and they hurt.

Having them itch, plus the dryness and tiredness isn't good at all.

I bought these because of the reviews, everyone seemed to give it a 5-star overall rating.

I tried them several times and they did moisturize my eyes, but didn't work for actual allergy relief (itchy eyes, watery eyes...etc ONLY dry eyes)

I'm still going to use them when my eyes get dry and tired.

This product did nothing for my eye allergies. I still itched, watered, and was swollen. The fact that it had to be used within 30 days of opening made it even less appealing.
