5.0 out of 5 stars Try Similasan before Restasis
I was in so much pain with my dry eyes I could hardly function. I tried almost every over the counter eye drops I could find and none helped for more than a few seconds. The eye doctor finally gave me Lotemax, a prescription steroid. It gave me relief. The only problems were that it cannot be used for the long term and it's very expensive. 2.0 out of 5 stars Wildly overpriced for what it is
Examine the bottle carefully. It has a list of "Active ingredients" and "Inactive ingredients", but this is misleading. Actually the only ingredients that matter are the inactive ones, which are the same sorts of ingredients you will find in other dry eye relief products for a tenth of the price. The so-called "active ingredients" are all homoeopathic, which if you don't...

5.0 out of 5 stars Try Similasan before Restasis, February 15, 2010
This review is from: Similasan Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops .33 Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
The doctor wanted me to take Restasis. I tried it and it made my eyes worse. Finally a wonderful, knowledgeable woman in the supplement department at our Sprouts market recommended Similasan Dry Eye Relief drops. I was desperate and would have tried anything. I was thrilled that these drops gave me relief and I've been able to stop using the steroid. Thankfully, I can avoid Big Pharma now. I'm very grateful to Similasan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ok, I Am Officially Impressed!!, December 14, 2009
This review is from: Similasan Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops .33 Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
I started getting dry eyes like 4-5 months ago. I have no idea why I started getting them but I only get them when I first wake up. They are so bad at times that I literally cant even keep my eyes open as it burns really bad trying to keep them open. I had been using Visine and it just didn't work well at all. It did give temporary relief but it didn't last long and it burned quite bad when first applying it. Your not supposed to use Visine more than 4-5 times a day and considering I was using it every 10-15 minutes for the first couple of hours in the morning...well lets just say I knew I needed to look into some different products. Thankfully this is just another case of mother knows best as my mom had been using Similasan Dry Eye Relief for years and even had a couple spare bottles for me to try out.

Anyways I tested it out that very next morning and the difference was literally stunning. Not only did it not sting my eyes when first applying it, it had an immediate effect that lasted FAR FAR longer than the Visine. On the really bad mornings I might have to put a couple more drops in an hour or so later but that is only for the really bad mornings. Most of the time a single application of Similasan will do the trick. It is also far more soothing than the Visine. My eyes actually feel good after I apply the Dry Eye relief and that just wasn't the case with the Visine. The Visine helped but it certainly wasn't soothing, at least nowhere near the level of the Similasan.

My mom purchases this from a local health store and she was paying 16.00 a bottle. I figured I would look on Amazon and sure enough they carry practically the entire Similasan line of products including the Dry Eye Relief. It was also considerably cheaper as I can now get 3 bottles for quite a bit less than it would cost to get 2 bottles at our local health shop. I believe in supporting local businesses but only if they have decent prices. In this particular case were talking about almost 8.00 more per bottle if I buy it locally. Amazon comes through once again!

The bottom line - Dry eyes can be extremely bothersome and at times very painful. I had an ex-girlfriend that had this problem and I just never realized how bad it was until I started having the problem myself. Its just awful and from what I have read, its the most common eye ailment in the US. Thankfully there are products out there like Similasan Dry Eye Relief that make this problem a thousand times more bearable. If you suffer from dry eyes then you simply must try this out especially if your currently using products like Visine. Its just a world of difference.

I for one will never use anything else ever again!

I have been using Similasan products for several years now. All the products I have tried work great with no side effects. And these Dry Eye Relief Drops are no exception. I buy these for my husband, who after lasik surgery got really dry eyes. With these drops he keeps his eye dryeness at bay without having to use the other chemical based drops. He has been using these drops for 6 years now, since they are not addictive, and can be use for long periods.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful drops!, March 8, 2010
This review is from: Similasan Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops .33 Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
Similasan Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops .33-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3)
I never had a lot of problem with dry eyes until I had an allergic reaction to some OTC drops my eye doctor suggested for when I'd used the computer for too long or when my allergies were bad. Those caused blurred vision that took two months to clear and intense pain. He suggested three other drops to try and help since my eyes also had become very dry after this episode. They all burned. My internist, who knows my med sensitivities , told me to stop all drops.Instead, I ran a dry mist humidifier on high day and night and that helped some. A friend told me about Similasan. With a great deal of hesitancy I tried them. What a difference. They felt good, helped with the residual dryness and are helping my eyes heal. I would highly recommend them, esp to people with any chemical sensitivities.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works for weepy eyes too, August 7, 2010

This review is from: Similasan Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops .33 Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
Like many others, I am impressed with Similasan products and highly recommend them. And like others, tried prescription products too, but none worked as well as Similasan. I have a weepy eye - my left eye runs, some days, almost constantly. Three doctors all have different opinions why it does - allergies, dry eye, enviroment, computer work - all of the above basically. The Dry Eye Relief works for weepy eye, too! I do find I have to use it daily - 1 to 2 drops morning and evening. If I miss a day, the weepy eye simply comes back. There is no 'rebound' effect - using it daily relieves it, missing a dose or two, simply makes it start up again. Others wrote about dry eye, so I thought I would like to add it works for weepy eye too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stop using vasoconstrictors, use this instead., July 25, 2010
This review is from: Similasan Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops .33 Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
I have had a LASIK operation four years back and being a geek, gamer & movie buff ... am in front of a LCD screen 14 hours a day.

I had been taking multiple brands of redness/dryness reliever eye drops over the years.

Commonly available lubricating drops did not cut it for me so I used the get redness reliever, (lubricating + redness) or (redness + lubricating)relieving eye drops.

Wasn't really happy with any of them, some provide immediate redness relief but your eyes feel stressed over the long run. Some provide lubrication but irritation and redness remain. Some are cooling in the first five minutes but don't work in the long run.

So I had to find something safe and better.

Then I read about how most redness relieving drops contain vasoconstrictors (chemicals which narrow / block blood vessels in your eye ... this what causes your eyes to look white in a minute) and knew it was time to stop cos one, they are addictive & two, they cause your eyes to feel tired and stressed out over time.

Then I found these ... in the first week or two I did not like them cos I still had redness, but then slowly when I got used to not having vasoconstrictors in my eyes, they were awesome ... reduced redness, lubrication and safe ... my eyes feel much better now.

Good Riddance vasoconstrictors ...

I won't use anything else unless the store has Computer Eyes. Similisan is amazing. These are better than the preservative free stuff for me.

I've tried alot of drops for dry eyes. Mine are especially bad at night. I wake up with my eyelids stuck to my eyeball and very scratchy. I use these before I go to bed and again if I wake up in the middle of the night and feel like my eyes are getting dry. They do not irritate my eyes like most other drops do. These are the only ones I buy now.

These eye drops are great! I use them whenever my eyes feel dry, scratchy, or tired, whether late at night or after long computer sessions. Instant relief.

Similisan has several different formulas (and seems to have renamed them all recently). I also tried the "Computer Eyes" formula but didn't like that one nearly as much; they felt "sticky".

best product for dry eyes I have used. The other eye drops I have used left thick residue and it would take hours for my eyes to clear so I could see. With these drops my vision improves much quicker in morning.
I have tried everything and happened to see similasan and from the first day using have been pleased with the results.
