As a homeschooling Mom, I'm always on the lookout for quality books that further our educational goals. While studying Ancient Rome around the time of Jesus, I came across this gem and I am so glad that I did. This historical fiction is one of the finest that we read for this time period and my 7th and 9th grade children wholeheartedly agree. I recommend it without any reservation for study of the period, but would also recommend it for pleasure reading.

I am almost done reading this book. It is hard to put down. You feel as if you are right there in the midst of the people in this book. I highly recommend it!
