The quality of this CD is so bad I refuse to listen to it in spite of loving these songs. Some are fuzzy, some loud, some soft. Very poorly done and a waste of money.

Simon and Garfunkel have a sound all their own. 'Bridge over Troubled Waters' 'Sounds of Silence''Mrs. Robinson' 'Scarborough Fair' are truly classical songs which play again and again in the mind. I am not sure how to define the quality and character of their 'sound' There is a special harmony, an intelligence , an irony, perhaps too a wistfulness and sadness at times. There is a certain kind of beauty in regret and perhaps this too is part of their music- regret and longing.
They are one of the lasting 'sounds' of that great musical era , the sixties. |
