Nice approach to encouraging exercise and better eating habits for kids, using man's best friend (dog). Cute illustrations and a funny easygoing story line will keep the kids interested! Try it, you'll like it!

Very cute story. My only complaint is that I would love to see more illustrations. Maybe there could be more in a book edition?

Wonderful story for children promoting healthy eating and exercise. Written in language that can be easily understood by young children.

The book is a very clever approach to childhood obesity which is a serious concern in pediatrics. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It is a great resource for parents, physicians and teachers addressing this issue with children. I plan to recommend it to parents.

This is a wonderful story that everyone should read especially children of all ages, parents, grandparents and all pet owners....a cute and accurate manual on how to influence a loved one to be healthy, and how to overcome resistances. It is a great lesson for young and old alike. And it is a scientific tale told by one of the world's leading experts, MIT's Dr. Judith Wurtman on diet and the consequence to humans and animals of eating the wrong foods. I have been following the teachings of Dr. Wurtman for over 18 years and have the utmost respect for her work. William K. Joseph New York City

Children will laugh, perhaps knowingly, at the antics of Simon, an endearing and wily dachshund
(Is there any other kind?) as he comes to grips with waistline issues. Friends and a kindly vet are his gentle and sensitive guides to the adoption and appreciation of a good diet and exercise.
The chapter book format and illustrations make it ideal for storytelling and independent reading.
