Must-have for high-quality headphones,
By
This review is from: Simple Acoustics High Performance AMP iPod
I use my Simpl A1 with a pair of audiophile quality headphones and the improvement in sound quality they provide is obvious. Easy to keep charged. I wish it were smaller, but I appreciate that it attaches to the back of the iPod, unlike other headphone amps. Highly recommended if you've invested in high quality headphones and want to hear what they're truly capable of.

Good Amp,

This AMP greatly improves the performance of my Bose headphones and the speakers in my motorcycle helmet. It snaps securely onto the back of the iopod. The battery life is excellent.

One Happy Customer,
This review is from: Simple Acoustics High Performance AMP iPod
I have had two different amps (both models of Boosteroos) for my Ipod prior to buying the Simp. A reviewer once wrote that Simpl had a muddy bass response which I have since discovered must be a result of using a headphone (even if high quality) that is not able handle any increase in power. I am currently using a Philips surround sound in the ear model that seems to have no problem with an increase power source. The bass is wonderful with these headphones and not so good with a more expensive JBL I had been using. Funny, that when you add an amp you may find yourself changing your opinion about headphones. Without an amp I like the JBL and with an amp I rather use the Philips.
I do think that the Ipod is slightly underpowered and that this device, a necessity, rounds out the sound for a better tone. I am quite happy with this product and am planning to buy another one soon. The battery life is very long and really easy to recharge using only the firewire wire it comes with. I have also charged my Simpl using only a boothtooth cell phone headset recharger. Hope this will not cause problems. I use much less power on my Ipod so this really is a win win situation. One last piece of information, I am someone whom evaluates music using good acoustic instrument recordings. I do not use rap or Techno (although I like Techno) when making an evaluation. I am confident that I can say you will find this unit an improvement for quality sound with the right headphone.
