A More Pleasing Christmas Collection, December 3, 2003
This review is from: Simple Gift of Christmas (Audio CD)
THE SIMPLE GIFT OF CHRISTMAS is Tim Janis' second Christmas collection. Like the first disc, it is great for background music, but this collection is generally more pleasing than the first Christmas collection. The arrangements are more complete, and Janis seems to be capitalizing on the uniqueness of his sound a bit more. For people not familiar with Janis, his music is almost a collection of many new age artists such as Yanni, John Tesh, the Windham Hill recording artists, sprinkled with a bit of Narada. It is enjoyable, and Tim Janis does have considerable talent. "Do You Hear What I Hear" is the track that seems to fit Janis' sound best, and is probably the most original recording on the disc, but there are no weak tracks on the album.
