I bought one of these last year and loved the light weight and ease of use of this item.This year I have used it in making room for new plants where I had Bermuda grass to deal with. This item breezed through the toughest of these strangling runners with very little effort on my part and it did not stress out my shoulder or hands at all.
I am so impressed with it I am ordering two more to make sure I have one for every area.The single best hand tool you can find or purchase and I highly recommend it.

This product compares favorably to similar products like the two AM Leonard Handy weeders, the 5" version and the Forged Handy Weeder (18"). For one, it is inexpensive and virtually indestructible. While I generally like the longer handles versions better, this product is different than competing tools because it is all aluminum, lightweight and has a smaller head so you can weed between plants better.
The 45 degree angle of the cutting surface is ideal and better for general use than the cape cod weeder which is angled at a 90 degree angle. (The Cape Cod weeder is a better tool for grouting or edging though). I bought two and added a longer handle to one with PVC Pipe and clamps. Now it has a 24 inch handle and can be without stooping over or forward and injuring my back (a common problem with virtually all short-handled, hand tools)

This little hand hoe is perfect for garden weeding. It is lightweight, but fits the hand perfectly, and is maade of cast aluminuum. It has become my favorite garden tool.

I picked up this item for the look. Everyone needs at least one sexy garden tool. I expected it to be mildly useful. I was really surprised when I used it for the first time, and it did a better job weeding my raised beds than any other tool that I have. It's so light, that I find myself clearing out a large area in a short time. Plus, because the head is small, I can detail around some veggies.

A word of caution. It does have a short handle, so I don't think I would be as happy with it if I had to weed with it at ground level. Most of my beds are waist high, so it's perfect for me.

I garden in raised beds without room for a regular hoe in many places, like in the onion beds. This tool allows me to weed in between the plants and rows when the plants are only 3-4" apart in all directions. This weeder will slice the weeds off at ground level, or dig under the soil, or you can use the narrow point to get right up next to the plants. When I got the tool I filed the bevel to make it as sharp as I could. The handle is comfy, and the tool seems indestructible. Highly recommended for hand weeding.

Weeds do not have a chance with this wicked tool! Perfect for that aggravating vegetation that creeps everywhere. Highly recommend.

I have been a gardner for 15+ years and love to give this type of tool as a gift, I think it's one of the most useful tools to have but I find it difficult to find. This is one the smaller side, but still more than acceptable for use & price. The only problem I had was it came used- the handle was tarnished, the leather loop had been cut off and place in the box (um...thanks?)but that isn't the fault of the tool, just the company that sent it, I didn't return it because it was a present & a tool that is just going to get dirty/used anyways and the usefullness was still there.

This is a good tool for pot weeding and don't leave in the sun and pick it up, it'll burn the heck out of you!!

This turned out to be a great tool! I have used a Japanese weeder before but they are more expensive so I tried this one. Surprise I loved it. It fits great in my hand and is wonderfully sharp. Slices under the weeds easily. Not is refined as my Japanese weeder but it is a weeder. Can't beat it for the price.

I was really looking forward to trying this weeder as I have arthritis in my hands but really love to garden. The handle fits nicely in my hands but the angle of the cutting edge could be a little sharper for my needs. I am able to get closer to small plants with this weeder than just a small hand held hoe but I think if it's head had a little sharper angle it would more easily cut and lift weeds. As it is it requires more strain on my hands than I was hoping for. I have a long handled "D" weeder that I use most of the time and it works great. It cuts under and lifts weeds easily with either a pulling or a pushing motion. I just needed something else to get at the weeds closer to my plants. While the Katie Brown weeder does get closer it requires a little more stress on my hands than I wanted. I will continue to use it till I find something better for the close in weeding.
