This was an interesting historical fiction story. As with all Margaret Frazer stories it is very descriptive and detailed. I wish I had known that it was a short story and not a novel when I purchased it.

I have read nearly everything Margaret Frazer has written and enjoyed every word. If you like early history of England, these are for you.

Bishop Pecock stories are so interesting to read! I can't seem to get enough of them. I wish they were longer because the plots keep me guessing every time. I say, to anybody who loves a good medieval story you absolutely can't go wrong with Margaret Frazer!!

I love everything that Margaret Frazer writes about the earlier times in England, and the British Isles. I know it is fiction, but I can tell that she has good research behind her books that tells us what it was probably really like during that time

My chief complaint is this is advertised in the "books under $3.99" section. It is not a novel but a short story, so it will take you less than an evening to read. I missed the lengthy visit to the past, becoming better acquainted with the culture and laws from which we sprang.

The writing and plot are both well crafted.

Margaret Frazer is an autobuy for me. She knows her time periods impeccably and describes them so well that you feel that you are living in them. Her mysteries are always hugely enjoyable, but her characterizations are even better. This is a wonderful read.
