I had the opportunity to catch Marina live at a small venue, and I had no idea who she was. After hearing a couple of songs, I went up and bought her CD, something I have never done before.

She is a wonderful songwriter and performer. Each song on this CD is worth listening to. I have my favorites of course, but she knows how to write a song that will grab.

Her best quality, in my opinion, is her originality. Many new talents today seem to want to emulate someone else ... I hear a lot of Alanis and Jewel knockoffs out there. Marina is wholly original.

What's also refreshing is that her lyrics are actually optimistic. She isn't channeling her inner rage, like many artists seem to think is vogue. Her lyrics are sentimental, down to earth and relatable. I don't sit there and think, "Damn! She is pissed!" I think, "Yeah, I get that. I've been there, too."

On yet another note, this CD is her second, and is very strong. This says to me that Marina is not a one-CD wonder, but someone who has the talent to keep on producing more good music. She deserves a listen to.

This is one very talented lady. Singers/songwriters like Marina and Anna Nalick have restored my faith in the current music scene. It's so good to know that there are people carrying on in the great tradition of Joni Mitchell and Sarah McLachlan, writing and performing something more meaningful than the typical june/spoon/moon lyrics you hear so much in pop music. And Marina is the complete package; great songs, terrific musician, and a wonderful voice. If you're into the adult contemporary genre, this is a CD you really want to buy.

February 15, 2003 the day after Valentines Day, I walked into a Borders and received the best Gift ever. That was the first time I heard Marina perform and I have been in love with her music ever since. The best thing I can say about Simple Magic is there is not a song that I don't enjoy. Unlike many other artists today who put two or three really good songs on a CD then fill the rest of the CD with inferior material, Simple Magic is truly enjoyable. "Guardian Angel" is a haunting and sensual song that penetrates and touches one's very soul. This is one artist that you will want to have in your CD collection, so when she pick up her Grammy, you can tell your friends, I've been listening to her music for years.

Marina's bio read like a good mystery: She was Soviet born, is incredibly attractive, an extremely talented musician and a trained martial artist. And soon she will be coming to your neighborhood !!!!!!

You never know how someone will react to new music released. I found Marina V and bought both of her CD's instantly, without hesitation. I have enjoyed her music more than I could have imagined. Her voice is smooth and she shares meaning with every word she sings. If you enjoy great music, meaningful words, and a passionate artist YOU need this album.

I have been a fan of Hard Rock, gave it up for Hip Hop and Rap.... until I heard Marina V's music. Her incredible voice combined with her strong lyrics just captures my soul. I can't get enough of her music! I have had the honor of hearing her play in person several times now, and if you think this CD is great, you should see her in person. Her talent will blow you away!!!

I was hanging out in the Pasadena Borders one Saturday night...And I hear a voice drawing me upstairs...singing...Wow! She sings like an angel from heaven! The passion she feels for her words and music is awesome and heartfelt!

Marina's voice matches the lyrics of the songs in unique ways. This CD should be enjoyed by many.

Yup, the cheesy title says it all. Marina V has an incredible talent for songwriting, and this album is proof. Refreshing melodies, touching lyrics, and a WONDERFUL voice. Relaxing, fresh, melodic and beautiful. A great album from a wonderful musician and I hope that many many more are yet to come.

Marina is one of the very few today's artists who truly move my soul. When I hear the lyrics they reflect something I've been feeling for a long time, just could never express myself.

Marina V is simply one of the most charismatic, believable performers you will ever witness.
She is an incredibly talented writer, but the singing/presentation: MAGICAL! She is literally one of the most amazing performers I've ever seen! I've only known her for a couple of years, but she is a BEAUTIFUL soul. Truly original and real.
She is one of my 3 top favorite singer-song/writers, ever. And I've seen hundreds (average 5 per week all over Los Angeles and San Diego)
I own every cd she's ever made since she came to America from Russia. Marina V is a GEM!!!!
