This review is from: The Simple Pleasures of Japan (Paperback)
There is a lot of info in this small book, a lot like Japan! It is an absolute delight to read, the sensual descriptions make it so alive, the smell of rain on stones, the feel of crowded trains, the taste of exquisite food, the sound of laughter! It makes me long to go there, but just reading this book was a little journey. It seems to thoughtfully cover almost everything a tourist needs to know - without the 'tourist book' feel to it. It reads like a novel, perhaps, like me, you'll just read it from cover to cover.
