A medium doesn't work well on a 35 pound dog, they would need a large.
Gail Curless
The size is a good fit and the tail hole has elastic around it, so it fits just tight enough that they don't slip down too far.
Jennifer Daly
Are easy to put on, have good adjustable velcro that seems very well made.

My mixed breed, part Basset Hound female dog is around 16 years old and recently has become fecally incontinent. At first, I tried Pampers Cruisers and cut a hole for her tail, but the diapers kept sliding off.

These adjustable panties with velcro tabs by Simple Solutions have saved the day!! I now use Parents Choice (much less expensive diapers)on my dog and these panties keep the diapers on without a problem. I highly recommend these Simple Solutions adjustable panties for anyone whose dog suffers from incontinence! My dog and I are both happy!

I purchased these for my Am. Cocker Spaniel to wear while she is in heat. These are so cute! I like them better than a pair we got by Pooch Pad (also size medium). These (by Simple Solutions) are designed better, with a section of shirred elastic at the belly for a MUCH better fit. These are less bulky since they aren't padded (just lined), but if more absorbency is needed, you can use the liners they sell. My dog didn't really need padding, so I like this non-bulky, really "Comfy" style. The tail hole is just slightly smaller which is also better for my Cocker, but it would still fit any dog I think. The issue with the other brand was that the tail hole was so big that, well, her "girl part" stuck out some usually, which means leakage can happen. On the other hand, she does want access so she can clean herself (I know--yuck!). The Medium is a good fit for my slim to average Cocker Spaniel (about 21 pounds with about a 17-inch waist). She's only 9 months old, but I think she is done growing unless she puts on weight. The Medium says it goes to 35 lbs, but I don't think it would fit if she were that much heavier. It would depend on the breed though, but this is what I think for a Cocker. Disclaimer: I tried these on her, but since she is not in heat anymore, she hasn't actually used them yet, but I can tell we're both going to love them!

UPDATE: After almost 2 more years, these continue to be a great purchase. Very comfy! I think she actually likes wearing them!

These fit great for my 20 lb pug and the Velcro makes it easy to take on and off. Highly recommend.

I bought these washable diapers because I was boarding a dog who wasn't potty-trained and I didn't want her to mark in the house. I lined the diaper with a Poise Pad (also purchased from Amazon) because they work better than maxi pads, and are much cheaper than liners from pet stores. If you're in-between sizes, I recommend sizing up if you plan on using a pad or liner.

My advice is to make sure you adjust the velcro to fit the waist as tightly as possible, so it doesn't leak. (I learned this the hard way.) I also recommend removing and putting these on outside, unless you have some sort of protective covering on the floor.

The elastic edge is great because it adjusts to fit, and doesn't irritate the skin, even after all-day wear. I like these diapers because they save me the hassle of having to clean up accidents and mask odors (the dogs still sniff them even after I've applied the cleaner multiple times).

I recommend these to other dog-sitters, and those with geriatric and incontinent dogs. They're easy to machine wash and air-dry.

These are not the nice denim, flannel-lined coverups that Simple Solution used to sell. They are made of a polyester knit. The colors are fun, but I preferred the old style. These do not absorb anything if the pad inside is displaced or leaks.

Both kinds (old and new) are hard to get to stay on if your dog scoots on the floor, unless your dog has a tail (in which case they are better but not great.)

I used them with a full-length Poise pad for absorbency on my dog, who was disabled and incontinent, and when they stayed on they worked well.

I bought a set of these for my Cairn Terrier nearly a year ago and they have been in daily service since . They get washed every other day , the velcro and elastic still work as new . I use Always maxis in them , inexpensive and effective .

Update it is now August 2014 and these are still in daily use . Showing signs of wear but still going strong .

My Pug is 13 years old. She was starting to lose her bowels and urine in the house. Her back legs are getting weak and she is not always aware when she is relieving herself. These have saved the day! I use a maxi pad liner. The only problem I've had is that sometimes when she sleeps in our bed they can work their way down as the night goes on. In the morning if she's had a bowel movement in the middle of the night, sometimes a piece of poopy might fall out. She doesn't seem to mind them. They fit around her tummy just about perfect. The Velcro is easy to unhook quickly when she needs to go outside and go potty.

My dog doesn't have an excitement problem. He is perfectly well potty trained. But he does have this annoying issue of wanting to mark inside my house. We don't want to make him stay outside while our other dogs come in, and these have proved to be the perfect solution. We just make sure he is covered up when we let him in and our furniture and carpet stays clean and dry and he can come inside.

Very easy to put on and take off. And they wash nicely.
