A Helpful Summary of Healing Prayer Methods, February 14, 2006
This review is from: Simple Ways to Pray for Healing (Paperback)
The Linns: Matthew Linn, Sheila Fabricant Linn and Dennis Linn could be considered gurus of healing, at least as far as the Catholic tradition is concerned. They have written extensively on the topic of healing life's hurts and have conducted well received workshops. The Linns have empathy for people who have been hurt and their empathy can be found in their writings.
SIMPLE WAYS TO PRAY FOR HEALING is an easy to use book that summarizes some of the Linns' prayer approaches to healing. The book begins with a basic introduction to praying for healing. It continues by dealing with ways to heal a distorted image of God, praying for forgiveness, healing through forgiving people we cannot confront, praying with others, and the examen. Most of the prayers themselves are scripturally based with an Ignatian influence.
SIMPLE WAYS TO PRAY FOR HEALING is a book that can be used by anyone seeking to heal life's hurts though it may be best used by someone who uses the methods but also has a trusted friend, spiritual director, or clergyperson who can journey with the reader.
