SimpleTech's 32 MB SmartMedia card is one of the thinnest options for removable solid-state memory. About one-third the size of a credit card and just as thin, the card is small but durable. Built with solid-state construction--no moving parts to wear down over time--the SmartMedia card will securely store your music, images, and data. The card's structure is simpler than that of conventional memory cards. Its NAND-type flash memory chip offers small write-block sizes and a sequential nature that improving its performance during continuous data recording.

After reading a comparison on Compactflash cards on DP review, I decided to go with the Simpletech Smartmedia card. I bought two, because you never know if you need an extra card for those days when you just go wild taking pictures. Great stuff!!

The reviewer with the one star review that said this part is sub-standard compared to other SmartMedia cards is dumb. All smartmedia cards agree the same. They are manufactured by Toshiba or Samsung only. There is no value-add that a consumer manufacturer can offer, except a label and tech support. Please stop the negative reviews without any data to back up the statements.

... other than expanding to infinite memory size so that I never have to swap out other cards. Oh well, I guess that may be asking for too much.

I had so much luck with my first Simpletech 32MB SM Card that I bought another. I'm always going on trips and am worried about running out of storage space. Now I have a back up.
