Received this card with my Fuji FinePix 2600Zoom camera. Works as advertised. I've had no problems at all. Good product.

After reading a comparison on Compactflash cards on DP review, I decided to go with the Simpletech Smartmedia card. I bought two, because you never know if you need an extra card for those days when you just go wild taking pictures. Great stuff!!

All SmartMedia cards are the same,

The reviewer with the one star review that said this part is sub-standard compared to other SmartMedia cards is dumb. All smartmedia cards agree the same. They are manufactured by Toshiba or Samsung only. There is no value-add that a consumer manufacturer can offer, except a label and tech support. Please stop the negative reviews without any data to back up the statements.

I was hoping I would be able to use this card to shoot some amateur pornography and really give it that vintage look, being that this card is more than 10 years old. But somehow, all of the pictures still look new, but the cameras that use them blow. If you can find a camera that uses SMCs, then you are horribly cheap, and really need to step it up. Even sex offenders use your garden variety point-and-shoot camera these days, and most of those will use either Secure Digital (SD) cards, or some form of Sony's Memory Sticks.
You should be ashamed of yourself.

... other than expanding to infinite memory size so that I never have to swap out other cards. Oh well, I guess that may be asking for too much.

I had so much luck with my first Simpletech 32MB SM Card that I bought another. I'm always going on trips and am worried about running out of storage space. Now I have a back up.

Product is sub-standard,

I have now had this card replaced and this new card is having the same problems as my last card. There are intermitent problems with it in regards to some of the images or MP3 files being corrupted. It is very frustrating to be taking pictures and then when you go to download them that can't "be recognized". Even worse is spending hours downloading your MP3s and then some of the files can't be read.Stick with a name brand cards--it will be well worth your money. |
