Good buy,
Excellent product, solid construction, well made. Bins are heavy-weight plastic, frame is sturdy. I have an older version with both bins the same size, which works better for us. I am looking for that model, but it seems they don't make it any more. Only problem with this product is that it needs full-extension slides - that would make it easier to access the rear bucket. It's not much of a problem putting things in the rear bucket, but the front bucket needs to be removed to remove the rear bucket. Also, it could use bumpers on the front edges of the slides, as they will scratch the inside of a cabinet door if the door is closed while the bin isn't fully pushed in, or if the bin is pulled out while the door isn't fully open. These are relatively minor caveats for an otherwise excellent product. NOTE: do not buy from this vendor - same product is available elsewhere on Amazon, and at the manufacturer's site, for a lower price.

Convenient and our counter is not cluttered anymore,

Excellent product. Previously, we were piling our recycling on our kitchen counter until we accumulated enough stuff to take out to the garage. Sometimes it would pile up a bit. This was unsightly, but we didn't always feel like running out to the garage for one cat food can or one newspaper, etc. Not any more! We use the larger, black bin of this unit for cans, glass, and plastic. And we use the smaller, blue bin for newspapers, small cardboard (cracker or cereal boxes, etc.), and paper. Since we must separate our recyclables this way anyway, this device makes it very easy to do so. At our rate of consumption, it takes us 5-7 days to fill the containers. Works great and our counter is no longer cluttered.
Installation was super easy, it took like 5 min using 4 wood screws (8 are provided in the package). The unit is well made and the ball bearings make the pull-out movement smooth. Nice. Recommended.

Got rid of the recycle clutter that inadvertently formed a pile on my rare bits of counter space. I already had a pull out trash receptacle, which this easily replaced and fit perfectly. Go to the Simple Human website and be sure to see the specs they require before you buy and install. The ball bearing gliders are super. A bit pricey, but I really like Simple Human products and find the quality and innovation worth the extra dough.

Simple Human is turning out to be better at using 'we are good at simple design' for branding and hoopla, than for building its actual products.
Installing is obviously easy. Choose a good spot, screw in to bottom of cabinet. I would have chosen slightly different screws, but that's nitpicking. I was replacing another sliding tray that was a bit old and was missing the back bin. The old one was made with a particle board base, etc. But it slid out enough to allow you to easily use and remove both bins. In comparison, the major design flaw of this item is that the slide range is too small, that means that considering a minimal 1/4 inch margin between the door and the frame's handle, plus the width of the handle itself, etc, your bins end up being too deep. You pull it out completely and you only have access to 4/5ths of the recycling bin. Which also means to take out the rear recycling bin you need to remove the front back bin first, slide the blue one forward, and then pull it out. This wouldn't be too terrible, but also the bins in the frame are too close and their 'lips' (a 1/4 inch border) overlap most of the time, which means that between jiggles and daily use one may end up on top of the other. if the blue one ends up on top of the black one, forget about getting the bins out without reaching in, jiggling them forcefully back into position so you can get the black one out first. Sounds minor, but these things you usually install once and use for years. You want it to just work and there are cheaper better products out there. I would considering buying a future version of it if: - Simple Human fixed the slide range outwards to add at least 10 inches more in extension. This makes it MUCH more friendly to use and empty the bins. Other trays do this. It doesn't add too much force. - They fix the design of how both bins interfere with each other in the middle. - They thought about their handle/corner hitting the inside of the cabinet door and included a little strip of some sliding but protective plastic. (I am handy so I can make this myself, but again it belies lack of good design by SH) These are simple design things that any trial use of a prototype would have brought out as issues, and that are easy to fix.

I really hate the fact that you can't pull it out far enough to pull the recycle bin out. You must first take out the black bin first before taking out the blue bin. As for size, it works perfectly for a NYC apt. Small and the correct size to through it down the compact chute.

I live in an apartment, and I didn't want to damage the cabinets by drilling holes for the 8 wood screws this unit comes with. Instead, I used two 5-inch strips of Sticky-Back Velcro. Worked perfectly; the adhesive is strong enough that the metal fixture stays in place, but if I ever want to remove it, I'll be able to do that without leaving holes in the woodwork. Highly recommended. You could also use the velcro trick to attach this to the floor of a closet, say, if you wanted.
As to the unit itself: It's elegant (for what it is), with a smooth sliding motion and bins that fit snugly yet aren't too hard to pull out. As others have mentioned, it's difficult/impossible to remove the back bin without removing the front bin first, but that's not too much of an inconvenience. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is its steep price tag (particularly when you consider that ordinary trash bags won't fit these tall bins well--SimpleHuman's recommended Trash Can Liner D and Trash Can Liner G come separately.

I am delighted with this purchase! It was easy to install, is very sturdy, and glides nicely. I have opted to use the black (larger) "trash" bin for recycling and the blue (smaller) "recycling" bin for trash since I have more recycling than trash. The "g" bags work well but are a better fit on the "trash" bin than the "recycle" bin. Overall I am very happy. I keep showing this purchase off to visitors. :-)

I was nervous about the size of it but between us composting, the recycling and trash combo works perfect. Does not fill up too fast either as previously thought...The tracks rolls smooth and the size if perfect for my cabs. Love the style too as it looks very modern
