With the help of an instruction video, a step-by-step manual, a built-in tutorial, and built-in answers to 18 help questions, this computerized embroidery-only machine makes it easy for even novices to add professional-quality embroidery to jeans, shirts, jackets, and linens. Capable of embroidering an area up to 4 square inches, the machine is programmed with hundreds of designs and thousands of combinations, including letters and numbers in three styles and various sizes, 120 design frames, 60 motifs, and 59 exclusive designs of 3-inch capital letters and patriotic, holiday, and floral motifs. All can be called up with the aid of an LCD touch screen. The machine makes it possible to create mirror-image designs, to rotate designs 90 degrees, to vary stitch density, to embroider in one or many colors, and to edit preloaded designs. The computer memory permits five freestyle designs to be saved permanently. Features include a top drop-in bobbin that's easy to put in, easy to take out, and easy to see and a built-in needle threader. Readouts on the LCD screen can be converted into 13 languages.

A bonus package accompanying the machine comprises a letters-and-numbers memory card with the most popular fonts to expand design choices, three hoops (small, medium, and large), embroidery scissors, and a coupon for three free Simplicity patterns. The machine has a built-in carrying handle. Simplicity offers warranties against defects: 25 years on the case, 10 years on mechanical parts, and 5 years on electrical parts. The Simplicity SE3 is so simple to use! I purchased this machine and received it within just a few days from Amazon. Watched the video, and I was embroidering within minutes! It's been a long time since I purchase a sewing machine of any type and I was amazed by automation of this machine. It tells you when there is a problem such as thread breaking or warns you the presser foot hasn't been lowered. It stitches very nice and even. Even my husband was impressed! Watch out, once you get this machine you will be looking at every towel, shirt or piece of cloth wondering what you can embroider on it! A lot of Brother accessories will also fit this machine which makes it very versitle. I chose this machine over the Brother 150 as it had many more options to it. It's worth every cent!

Very nice, intuitive machine. Great instructional video. Stitches beautifully. Instruction on how to do various things are right on the display screen. Very helpful. Will need the Amazing box and a program like Embird to use to full capacity. Built-in designs are limited and bit childish. ...

I bought this machine from another dealer and bought it factory serviced(because it was cheaper and came with some extras). I hade problems with the factory serviced machine and ended up paying much more in the end. I have never had a problem with a factory serviced item from Amazon so I thought factory serviced from another company would have the same quality. I would suggest that you buy new like the one they have listed here. The machine is very easy to use. The video is very simple to follow. I watched the video and completed my first project in a matter of minutes.
