This review is from: Simplicius: On Aristotle's "Categories 5-6" (Ancient Commentators on Aristotle) (Hardcover)
Simplicius was the last of the pagan Neoplatonists, other than Damascius, of importance. Simplicius especially shows the impact of the change caused by the competition with Christianity. This is more evident in his commentary on Epictetus' ENCHIRIDION, as Nietzsche complained of, but, here, helps understand the transformation of Christianity's support for Plato into a complete turnabout in support of Aristotle. Boethius was highly influence either directly or indirectly by such Neoplatonic commentaries and this is deeply reflected in his treatises on the trinity.
