Product Description

The best wireless home security system value on the market, the 8-piece Simplisafe2 Plus Package features pre-programmed sensors that work together instantly -- right out of the box -- and you can install them and fully protect your home in 15 minutes or less. All systems are fully customizable, so you can start with the sensors listed in this package and add more of the sensors you need, whenever you want.

It Shouldn't Cost a Fortune to Protect Your Home

For decades the alarm industry has tricked homeowners into signing expensive long-term contracts, charged hundreds for installation, and pushed alarm systems ridden with outdated technology.

SimpliSafe believes being safe should be simple. With no salesmen, contracts and hidden fees, SimpliSafe designed a powerful new security system that uses the most cutting-edge wireless and cellular technology to guard your home for just $14.99 each month.

Easy to self-install, the Simplisafe2 wireless home security system is 100 percent wireless and doesn't require a contract or a telephone line.

Introducing Unbeatable 24/7 Security for just $14.99

SimpliSafe knows that the safety of your home and family matters more than anything else. With 24/7 Professional Alarm Monitoring, expert monitoring specialists watch over your home every second of the days and are always on the alert and ready to contact the police or fire department in the event of a burglary, fire or carbon monoxide leak in your home. You're also given a courtesy call if a freeze or water leak occurs in your home.

Bloated prices won't give you better security. SimpliSafe guards your home with the highest caliber security available, U.L.-certified monitoring, for only $14.99 each month. Most alarm companies charge you three times as much for the exact same level of security!

New Wireless Alarms Save You Hundreds on Set-Up

Nobody wants a stranger drilling holes in their wall -- so why should you pay over $200 for messy installations? SimpliSafe is wireless and installs in minutes: all the sensors arrive pre-programmed and ready to be mounted. No tools required, now wires, no hassles.

Plus, wireless means that you can easily take your system with you, wherever life may take you next.

Dedicated Cellular Defense

SimpliSafe is invincible to intruders. Burglars know that most alarms use phone lines that can be cut in seconds. That's why the SimpliSafe system uses a built-in, independent cellular connection that's five to ten seconds faster and can't be cut! It comes absolutely free with your monitoring, and there's no phone line required.

smart tech

Smart Technology Keeps Your Home Safer

Most wireless alarm systems have a dangerous defect -- if a burglar smashes the keypad quickly enough, the police don't get alerted. SimpliSafe has solved this problem, by hiding its brains in the Base Station.

Even if your keypad is smashed, SimpliSafe will still alert the police.

power out

SMS and email alerts keep you informed 24/7. With alarm and activity alerts sent directly to your phone, you gain the peace of mind to enjoy your day.

Power Outage Protection

SimpliSafe was designed to keep you safe in the event of a power outage. Wireless sensors run on powerful lithium batteries that last 5 years, so you stay secure when the electricity fails. Plus, the Base Station comes equipped with a built-in rechargeable backup battery, which can power your system for two full days and be recharged at any time.

SimpliSafe Guarantee: No Contracts, No Risk, No Hassle

Our customers keep coming back because of our exceptional security and legendary customer support, not because of contracts and commitments. No contracts means no cancellation fees, no minimum commitments: no hassle.

What's in the Box

One Keypad -- Unlike other alarms, if a SimpliSafe keypad were smashed, the alarm would continue to function. That's because SimpliSafe took the "brains" out of the Keypad and put them into the separate Base Station.

One Base Station -- Plug-and-play, the Base Station is responsible for sending all your alarm signals to SimpliSafe's 24/7 alarm monitoring center. Using the same cellular technology that's in your mobile phone, it includes a SIM card that gets activated when you subscribe to the SimpliSafe alarm monitoring service.

One Motion Sensor -- Detects motion within 30 feet. The sensor has a "field of vision" of 90 degrees, giving you a full range of coverage when placed in a corner.

Four Entry Sensors -- The sensor detects whenever the magnet moves more than two inches away from it, so it knows whenever the door or window opens. The magnet can be placed up to 2 inches from the sensor, so sensors fit on all types of doors and windows.

One Keychain Remote -- Arm and disarm your alarm with a push of a button. Set your alarm to away after you leave to protect your home. Simply press off to disarm your system as you approach your front door. Pressing the panic button alerts SimpliSafe's Emergency Monitoring Center that you need help fast.

I like this system a lot. However, today I learned that if you arm the system in HOME or AWAY mode, but have a door or window open, the system warns you via the base station (hidden away per their recommendation) and the keypad. I OFTEN arm via the keyfob when I'm in the driveway or via their app or website. No alert comes that says "You left ____ open". Given that I get alerts for arming, disarming, low battery, etc. - this is absolutely unacceptable since they provide remote arming options.

PLEASE MAKE THIS AN ALERT THAT IS SENT! Until you do, I can no longer recommend it.

I purchased ~$400 kit from SimpliSafe directly since their site had more kits than Amazon. I bought it for my house which was completely empty at the time but I wanted to make sure nothing was happening until I moved in. Within a day one of the motion sensors tripped around midnight - in a completely empty house. It must be real right?! We rushed 15 miles there to find literally nothing. Since we were in "training mode" not a single call was made to us.

After we moved in, a cat triggered a different motion sensor – something we were told was not supposed to happen. I wasn't able to get the call but my wife cell was also on the account. She wasn't a primary contact so they sent the police... Thing is, I could not set up a second primary contact online, only by calling. The cat tripping the sensor happened one more time before I removed all their batteries and put them in a box.

Now, I had the system set to "Home" basically just entry sensor mode and my wife opened the door. Nothing happened!!! It should have triggered, freaked out, alarmed. Something. I go over to the base station and the light is out. Outlet has power but the normal blue light is missing. I unplugged it and the alarm triggers as it regains power or whatever.

Its really disconcerting that something that is supposed to make you feel safe actually does literally nothing but cause you stress and will probably not work in the case of a real break in. I saw so many reviews on Amazon and YouTube to convince me this was a good buy, but at ~$400 + $15/mo I might as well just pay a reputable local company to do it. That way I could actually get tech support, have a real person on the ground come fix the bugged system.

I have batteries dying at the 4 month mark. Sticky backs failing to hold.

Onto the real complaints though,

On the website it wont allow you to downgrade service without calling in. They wont allow you to delete your credit card information from the web site without calling in, even then they lied about it.
In the last week I have had the alarm trigger 3 different times due to a failing sensor. One time it took me 2 minutes to get to the keypad. I never heard from them.
Another time they called me after I ran a test on the system. They called me 3 hours later to inform me it had "just" happened.

Save your money.

Also I was looking over a lot of the positive reviews..... Isnt it strange that a lot of them only have one review listed and it is for this product?

I bought a simplisafe system for my home because I accepted a one year contract to work in China, and I wanted my house monitored without having to sign a three year contract with any other company. Twice, so far, I have received emails from simplisafe telling me that my equipment isn't working and that certain steps must be taken, such as checking the batteries, etc. Fortunately, my son was able to go to my home the first time to rectify the problem. However, now, only a few months later, I have received another notice that my system isn't working, and again, they recommend certain pedestrian steps to fix the problem, such as checking the batteries or rebooting the system. Do they expect me to fly to the United States from China every few months to keep maintaining a system that has been advertised having batteries that last three years, etc.? It is impossible for me to feel that my home is securely protected. By having a simplisafe system, I have just added one more worry, one more concern, one more burden to my already busy life. I certainly do not trust this company at all, and this is due to the fact that the failure of their substandard equipment (which I have to pay a monthly fee for) is offering no sercurity at all. For anyone who contemplates
a long absence from their home and does not want to do repetitive maintenance on their security system, I would advise you not
to consider simplisafe.

You should know this is my first time writing a review - good or bad - for anything in my life. I often find people who review products on a regular basis to just be incredibly inept and bratty, so if you think that also, this is the review you should read.

I am a very new customer to Simplisafe 2, having only bought the system about 15 days ago. I had been looking for an alarm system for my NYC apartment after suffering a burglary last summer. After searching online for an effective but inexpensive system I stumbled upon Simplisafe. It was initially appealing because not only was the cost reasonable, but it allowed for an easy installation too. I don't have a phone line set up because I just use my cell anyway and I figured a wireless system would be much easier and cheaper to set up for that reason. I'd heard about how many popular alarm companies up-charged in the installation process and was hoping to avoid that. Simplisafe looked very promising after reading a ton of positive reviews on amazon. Even the poor reviews didn't seem too alarming as I noticed many were complaints really due to the customer's ineptitude - not Simplisafe. I called Simplisafe to ask them a few questions of my own before ordering and was content with their responses. The only thing that worried me was that Simplisafe is not liable if you suffer a burglary and the armed system does not respond - so you can't blame them if your system doesn't work properly for any reason outside of their warranty. Their reason being because it is a DIY (do-it-yourself) system, they cannot guarantee that the system was properly installed.
