I thought I would try this pump after returning to work and having trouble keeping up w/ my daughter's milk demand. It was the only pump on the market w/ a different design/ theory than the other breast pumps out there and since I wanted to continue breastfeeding my daughter, I was willing to spend the money to try it. Take my advice and DO NOT purchase this product until they have redesigned the suctioning system. First, it is EXTREMELY loud as compared to my Ameda pump. I couldn't believe how noisy such a little product can be. This product only worked well for me for the first week. It was very comfortable, but after that first week, the tubing didn't remain in place on its own (I had to hold it to maintain suction). Then after the first month, the o-rings on the suction tubing started to degrade creating another loss of suction... I went back to using my first breast pump. I'm extremely disappointed in this product and the money I lost for its purchase!!! Updated- 6-17-11... After writing this review and having all of the trouble that I did- I emailed the company w/ my complaints. They were extremely helpful and timely. My email was followed up promptly w/ a direct number to an actual person I could speak w/ concerning my issues. They sent two entire new tubing sets Fed-Exed the next day- no charge. I tried the pump again w/ the new tubing and was pleasantly surprised that it did work (and longer than a week this time), but it did seem to take longer to get the same amount of breastmilk as my other pump. I can't honestly say if this would be better over time/ continued use b/c my breastfeeding days are now over, but maybe as your body adjusts it might not take so long.

I was so excited to get a pump that would be comfortable to use. It really IS very comfortable to use.

However- that is where the pluses stop! It is so irritating to put it together. You have to get it *perfect* to get an air tight connection and good suction. Also, it only has good suction when you do one side at a time. When I put it on double barely anything comes out. I don't think I could use it on double anyway because you have to hold the tubing into the top piece for it to even work (otherwise it makes a ssssss noise). The plastic tops broke and I had to get new ones... which also broke (I got the replacement tubing as well and it only helped for a short while).

I wish I got a different pump. I am a stay at home mom and I use it at least once per day. I think if I needed to use this pump at work during a break I'd have thrown it out the car window a long time ago. I will definitely be getting a different pump for my next child.

If a company is going to send out a product with a faulty part, I think they should at least let you know about it. Although, why wouldn't they just send out the replacement part in addition to the boxed set with the faulty part? The tubing they send out with these machines is faulty- call customer service who will overnight you the new tubing which will apparently fix my problem. I'll update as to whether it does. But anybody with a new baby will feel similarly upset at wasting hours trying to make this thing work with faulty parts.

I've been borrowing a friend's pump, but decided to try this after reading all of the slick advertising. What a mistake! After using it for a week, and pumping twice as long as I had with a Medela pump I am getting less than half the milk I'm used to getting. My supply is tanking, and my freezer stash of "emergency" milk is disappearing very fast.

So, yeah, while this pump doesn't "tug or pull", it doesn't really matter when you get virtually NO milk. I've tried several other pumps and never had a problem getting sufficient milk. It's also worth pointing out that there are a zillion parts to assemble and clean and the pump is LOUD, LOUD, LOUD.

I'm also very concerned that this company is posting fake reviews to make itself look better. Seems almost all the Amazon reviewers have only posted reviews on simplisse products and nothing else. Very suspicious.

I purchased this pump with the intention of using it when I went back to work, but was frustrated from the get go. First of all, I had issues with the tubing like others have mentioned and the hard plastic tabs broke. I had to call customer service to have new ones sent to me.

Construction problems aside, my biggest issue was pumping time. I pump twice a day at work and when I was using the Simplisse, it often would take me 45+ minutes with breast compressions and hand expression to get a decent amount of milk. It also worked better when I pumped one side at a time (which also increased pumping time).

Yes, the pump starts off as comfortable, but I was pumping for such a long time my nipples became numb and did end up hurting. I also developed several clogged ducts.

I finally broke down and rented a pump at the suggestion of an LC, and I couldn't believe the difference. In the end I bought an Ameda. I've been pumping for eight months now. While the Ameda's not perfect, I'm able to express an average of 12 ounces a day from two pumping sessions.

Pros: You don't need to worry about flange size. Accessory kit and bag are nice. Freezer bags are especially sturdy. Great customer service.

Cons: Poor construction, inefficient, loud, bottles are only 3 ounces instead of 4, expensive, pain to assemble and clean, needs to be "just so" in order to work properly.

Bottomline: I really wanted to like this pump and tried everything to make it work. If time and quantity are less of an issue, you may have a better experience than I did. But if you're planning to use this for work or if you're pumping a lot, you may want to choose another brand.
