This was very disappointing. The first pattern I started had a mistake. I am an intermidiate knitter and should not have had any problems knitting this pattern. This is the second Debbie Bliss pattern in a row that has had a mistake. It seems as if Debbie Bliss is not concerned about customer satisfaction of quality control. I will NEVER buy a Debbie Bliss pattern book again, and am considering returning this one.

There are so many DORKY baby patterns out there. Debbie Bliss has some beautiful classic shapes that even a "advanced" beginner like myself can attempt. My "neice-to-be" will love the new clothes!! Highly recommended.

I've only knit the baby shrug so far, but as someone who does not have a lot of experience with knitting garments, I loved the instructions. Very clear, easy to follow. The yarns are gorgeous. Soothing to work with. I would recommend this to anyone. The book itself is nicely laid out with beautiful pictures of the knitting and the babies...

So your best friend has just told you she's pregnant, you really want to give her something special and hand-made, but the only knitting you've ever done was a garter stitch scarf and a sweater you have been attempting to finish for years?

I wouldn't probably recommend it to total beginners (if you're one, get
Baby Knits for Beginners by the same author - or better still, get both and you're set). The patterns aren't difficult, but even the advanced knitters should not get bored with this book.

True, Bliss uses only her own yarns (quite understandable), but that's not a problem if you know how to choose substitutes.

Some people complain the patterns are difficult to read, but that's not the case. Even I, a very pre-intermediate knitter whose native language is not English, don't have any problems with that.

Highly recommended.

The patterns in this book make me want to have babies. Not only are the knits chic, but the photography and layout of the book itself are very well done. The excellent pictures make the patterns all the more inspiring. A must-have for the knitting-for-baby library!

I wish they would check the measurements they recommend for the various ages. They don't make sense: at least in one case, the instructions had two huge mistakes. I wasted A LOT of time due to this. Don't waste your money, and specially don't waste your time.

I had already seen this book since a friend had it, so I knew I'd like it. The projects are easy enough but not overly simple-looking. They make great gifts. Patterns are clearly written and the book also has instructions for some of the techniques. Very cute babies,too. I was disappointed to find some of the Debbie Bliss yarns they recommend have already been discontinued, but there are lots of great yarns out there to substitute.

Debbie's instructions for these patterns are very detailed and easy to understand. I made the baby shrug in two nights-- following her path to the letter. The sizes run "generous" to a little big, but that is appropriate to a rapidly growing baby. I look forward to using many of these timeless patterns over and over and perhaps add some small embellishments of my own. A wonderful buy.

The book is beautiful and there are lots of very lovely designs. I'd say I'd probably like to knit more than 50% of the patterns but would likely do more if I had a new baby. From other reviews I've read it seems like some of the patterns run a little large which is good b/c I think all but one pattern has a max size of 24 mo. The only thing I don't really care for is that most of the patterns seem to require/recommend Debbie Bliss yarn. It would have been nice if there was more a variety in that respect. I am very happy w/this purchase and would recommend the book to anyone who has small babies and/or who likes to knit baby stuff.

I have found many patterns to make in this book - all with easy to follow instructions. I bought it after borrowing one from a friend.
