I got this set a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it. Although I wasn't around in the 60's, I'm familiar with most of the songs on the set. My 4 year-old is very fond of the Turtles "Happy Together" and The Drifters "Under the Boardwalk". This is essentially the same set as the 1998 version and the cover is red, not pink as shown here.

Here are a list of the artists/titles (which I got from the 1998 version):

Disc 1
1. Simon & Garfunkel - Mrs. Robinson
2. Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl
3. Monkees - Daydream Believer
4. Four Seasons - Sherry
5. Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup
6. Beach Boys - Good Vibrations
7. Surfaris - Wipeout
8. Tom Jones - It's Not Unusual
9. Dusty Springfield - Son of A Preacher Man
10. Turtles - Happy Together
11. The Zombies - Summertime
12. Overlanders - Michelle
13. Herman's Hermits- No Milk Today
14. Spencer Davis Group - Keep On Running
15. Booker T & the Mgs - Green Onions
16. Kingsmen - Louie Louie
17. Trini Lopez - If I Had A Hammer
18. Chris Montez - Let's Dance
19. Marmalade - Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
20. Gary Puckett & the Union Gap - Young Girl
21. The Mccoys - Hang On Sloopy
22. Mamas & the Papas - California Dreamin'
23. Chiffons - He's So Fine
24. Everly Brothers - Cathy's Clown
25. Dion - the Wanderer
26. Animals - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood
27. Easybeats - Friday On My Mind

Disc 2

This two discs have a little of every kind of pop music in the 60's. From some hard to find " Itchygoo park " to "green onions" then to a sonny & cher tune. THere is even the theme to james bond on these discs. The only drawback I can see from these discs is that there so much different type of music some people would not like this. But if you want a collection that is varied a great sound and a great price . I would not hesitate to grab it ! SOB

I felt like I had been back in the 60's again, although that is impossible. Much better then the music of today's youth.

This is a great supplement to my core '70s collection of music! Funny, I used to 'hate' the '60s because it was so.... well, OLD. But now I like it, and welcome these songs to my .mp3 shuffle line-up!

My only negative comment is that the sound quality seems to be a little flat. Otherwise, I recommend this collection.

This is an incredible collection of great 60's material. Unbelievable they included this many HITS on one cd set! Do not be mislead by some of the reviews!! First off, this is obviously a British release and has some hits mostly heard on that side of the pond. However, most made the charts in the U.S. as well. There are only 3 songs out of 60 that are questionable. Michelle by the Overlanders - not sure but probably a hit in England only. The Zombies had some huge hits but Summertime was not one of them. And, lastly, Can't Take My Eyes off of You should have been by Frankie Valli which was a monster hit for him and actually a huge comeback after the Four Seasons had faded away. Songs like Ob-la-de, a Beatles composition, was also covered by the Marmalade and was a huge hit when I bought it London and it made the charts in the U.S. as well. Aside from the mentioned cuts all songs on this cd are by original artists and the few "covers" were chart hits. Another reviewer commented on the song Everlasting Love. This is a great song and consequently has been well covered at least 6 times on the charts since the 60's when first released. Original version probably the best - 1967 first done by Robert Knight, a national hit and probably amongst the top 10 biggest hits ever on Philadelphia radio. Nearly the same time the Love Affair copied it in London and got the hit over there and kinda "stole" it away from Robet Knight for European release. Carl Carlton covered it years later in about 1974. Someone else posted a comment that the second disc is mostly "bubblegum". Bewildered by that as it is mostly great 60's soul - from the likes of Motown, Atlantic, Atco, and Stax. Sam and Dave and Marvin Gaye, "bubblegum" ???!!!Read more ›
